What kind of light are you asking about? Spotlights or kill lights?

Have tac lights on some of my rifles and shotguns and the light kits i bought from Panther on here (THF) are better (more light) than the surefires and chinese stuff I've bought. His green light is a killer. Price is right too. Fixing to buy another.

+1. Bought a green one off him before spring break and used it to bag a boar down south over spring break. The green light is bright @ 100 yds and useable @ 150. At least the light was useable but I kept missing at that distance. bang Gotta shoot more often. Back on subject though, the hogs weren't affected by the green light at all. Other animals noticed it but weren't too spooked. Turn it on pointed to the sky and lowering it down to the critters worked well. I ordered the AR mount for it and the light kit really rocks.

You sure you had a good charge on the battery because i could see a yote at over 200 yrs really good with the one i got from him and my buddy has one of the 250$ that the other place sells and mine was a lot brighter that it

Brand new light kit but that was the longest distance I used it at. My nephew got a white light from Midway and mine did much better than his but his was entry level.

I'm returning to hunting from when I was a kid and haven't been out that much. I shot more during the spring break week than I have in the last 20 years combined.

I got a green light from Panther also and it is very bright. Still have not been able to hunt with it but I have spotlighted around in the back yard and can when you catch the eyes of an animal it looks like Christmas lights shinning back on you.

Carlt828 What AR mount did you order for you Xtreme Predator Light? I am looking into getting one.

I've got three of the Chinese (aren't they all Chinese...) lights. I think they are Uniquefire 802's, and all have the red light. They work great and are quite bright and useful at 135 yards, which is the distance to my farthest feeder. Some of my batteries have died, however, so I went to BatteryPlus to get a couple more. The new batteries aren't very strong and the lights are not as bright as they are with the original batteries. Until recently, I would not have said that the battery makes such a big difference in how well the lights work.

I got it from Panther when I bought my light kit but I think that any 30mm QD ring will work from what I've gathered (got the info from a lonestarboars.com thread) .

I was thinking about buying one of the UniqueFire 802's with extra color led modules (giving me another green plus red & white) to mount on my 10/22 in case varmints come my way. The UniqueFire 802's look just like the one in Xtreme Predator Light kit and I'm curious if it works as well. Going by 603Country's post it sounds like they do. You can save a few bucks piecing it together that way although I do like the kit Panther sells. It's nice having everything you need in a case together and ready to go.

I have been following a thread on a light forum about 18650 Li-ion batteries. There are some who say all UltraFire battery's are all recycled laptop batteries. According to some they can be dangerous. I suggest you buy your batteries from a reputable builder. According to the Panasonic rep I spoke with, they only sell to OEM distributors. I called them because e-cigarettes are becoming so popular I wanted to start stocking replacement batteries for them. He went on to say they do not sell a factory version with a PCB and the quality of PCB's varies among builders.

I really like the UniqueFire T20 host. I bought mine from Wallbuys.com when they were $17.53 delivered. I bought my batteries from one of Panasonic's recommended resellers in Florida for $10.48 a cell for NCR18650b Panasonics. I have since added a 2x telephoto lens and now the stock T20 can light up out to 550+ yards. My equipment sees 940nm light and with the doubler and a fresh cell I can now see well out past 400 yards. Check out this thread in Photos
$15_UniqueFire_T20_2x_doubler

The Panasonic NCR18650b 3400 mAh cells will last a good 3 hours in the light shown in the link above.

PM me if you have any questions and I'll tey to help.

I have been using the Noxx flashlights myself. 50 bucks a pop and they go out to 200 yards. They have high and low modes and have a slide adjust to switch between flood and spot. You can get an accessory kit for 30 bucks that comes with mount and pressure switch. With all that said these are the only lights I have tried but I'm pretty happy with them so far. I did get to see a wicked light up close and those things will go a long way and also have high and low modes. I'm planning on trying one just haven't done it yet

I use an Orion H25-G that I bought off of Amazon. I like the light, and it probably goes out to 250 yards like it's advertised but my scope is 9 years old now, and I can see clearly out to about 120.

I have tried several including the acedemy hog light for 50.00. A Mr beam mtion light on line cost about 20.00 and does the job however I am now using motion lights from Harbor frieght at 29.00 and a motion light from Northern tool about 39.00. these are great. They are solar powered and I leave them full time at my feeders. The hogs and other game become used to them and show no reluctance to come in for the shot.

Anyone ever use Wicked Lights? They claim the green light will identify at 180 yards and reflect eyes at 400 yards. The light cost $149, was wondering if they were worth it.

I have a 1000 lumen surefire that switches between a lower setting like 300 lumens that I like a bunch it is expensive around 200 but bright. I like the white so you can blood trail with it as well. I don't see blood as well with green may just be me. My guides own just about every light imaginable the ND-3, the kill lights, wicked lights etc… and I would rather have my surefire personally.
Hog lights we have tried everything imaginable, and my biggest complaint is going through batteries even with solar panels etc… it can be a pain. I think some of the cheap landscape lights are probably your best bet or what flash prism said they have to be on every night all night so the animals get used to them are the pigs tend to shy away from them. I don't like lights for pigs I have used a bunch go different night vision which I feel you need over gen 2 or digital. My biggest complaint is you eat through the batteries. We picked up a few nitesites recently http://www.nitesiteusa.com man I am very impressed with these and the cost I think these are much better than spending 3500+ on NV or even more on thermal which I have and use both.
Back to his original question though varmint light I take that as a predator light to shine for predator hunting. I still use the Q-beam varmint special I like the big very big halo this light casts. I replace the on off switch and cord with a heavy duty toggle switch and rewire it with a heavy duty outdoor extension cord. I use the 3 prong extension cord plug in as well as most of the cigarette plugs burn up pretty easy. I make an adapter to plug it into the cigarette plug and I run just in case (really cold nights) the other half of the extension cord I run off of my car battery to the bed of my truck with an inline fuse to run it out of the back of the truck or in a rack.

Looking at that Nite Site, though.
