On our lease we have 8 members but the landowner only gave us permission to kill 7 trophy bucks, we don't have a rule that stipulates wounding a trophy counts as your trophy, but if it happened I would argue till the cows come home that the wounder was done trophy hunting. It seems fair to me that you had your chance and should pass on another, unless the deer is seen alive or photographed at a later date.
I feel more like I do now then I did when I got here.

If you shoot and wound one to find him later after its spoiled then yes tag him hunt over .If you dont find him continue to hunt(after checking gun)<Wife shot one last year shot was in sholder a little high another hunter shot this deer 2 weeks later check out pics with a deer shot with a 270 and lives so no animal means no for sure kill
