What are you guys with added accessories, lights and portable spotlights using for batteries? Are "UTV" batteries enough to run a winch?

The Mule guy's over on the Kawasaki forum recommend the red top Optima. A little pricey but supposed to last forever and they are maintenance free.

Interstate but for my spot lights I keep a much larger battery in the bed and spliced the wires on my light so I don't have to worry about blowing fuses

I put a second battery in my Rhino with a battery separator so my charging system charges both.

One Optima Battery and be done. Might have to rig a new spot for it but no need for any extra battery or charging system. We ran extra lights front and back including light bar, winch, road feeder, and all the other electrical on the Mini Truck, Mule or Ranger from one Optima battery. Last a long time also for the money it is the best deal out there for a UTV or even in the mini-trucks.

I have a red top Optima on my Polaris Ranger Crew and it has not let me down since 2009. I ordered a custom cut battery holder that is cut for the Optima and mounted it under the hood.

Two Options: Get a high power battery like an Optima unit or a dual battery setup. Got my Optima battery here. SBS Parts
