My dog is almost a year old and I have yet to have a problem with her chewing until the past week or two. She has been going for the tv remotes, I pop her with the remote when I catch her but once again today she did it. What should I do? As far as stuff for her to chew on she has multiple antlers and other chew toys around the house and gets either a kong or rawhide every night.

No not collar conditioned, have a crate use it during the day when no ones home. Today she went for the remote as soon as I got in the shower.

Sounds like your pup has hit teenage stage.
Great time to go back over the Leave It command with her.
Just going to have to work with her till the time passes, and use the crate if your not in the room with her.
I also use a spray bottle filled with water. It doesn't work with all dogs, but some hate to be sprayed.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

Gotta get her collar conditioned. If not then never leave her out when no one is watching.

My dog went through a short phase of trying to chew on the couch pillows. Only took two hits with the e collar and he got the idea. Didn't even have to say anything. Just hit the collar.

How much time is she getting out and working every day? A tired puppy is a good puppy.

Put some vinegar in the water, about 1/3 vinegar

I never leave my dogs alone in the house and they have never chewed on anything. They are either in their crate, in their place (dog bed), or outside if I am not watching them.

You might put away some of his targets.

Exactly my thoughts. Most of the time a destructive puppy is a bored puppy!

Put some vinegar in the water, about 1/3 vinegar

Put some jalapeno juice in there, and spray on problem areas like chair legs etc.. Probably not a good idea to spray the remote tho, you put your hand on the remote, then go take a leak not good. grin

I was thinking this was partly my fault. She's in the kennel on average 730am-2pm (I need to get better about this) but I work with her about 3 times a week about 25 min and just goof off play fetch in the back yard about an hour a day.

It's either the crate or outside.

Maybe she just doesn't like what you are watching on TV, and is trying to change the channel. grin

Just outta curiosity, why do you even have the dog? But, since you do, wipe some jalepino juice on the remotes. Should work quick... As for going to the bathroom after handling it yourself, shouldn't be a problem.. All good little boys and girls are taught to wash their hands before and after going... If you forget, it'll just be a warm reminder that you should spend more time wifda dog. Good luck...

Had a buddy that used to keep a Chow in the house.
The dog loved to eat bar soap.
He'd get in the shower, get soaked down, reach for the soap.......gone again.
So he soaked a bar in jalepeno juice and stuck it in the shower.

Damn dog liked it EVEN BETTER.
