Im heading overseas this week for a 6 month stay. I managed to talk my wife into letting me go out on one more hunt. I called up one of my airmen that mentioned he'd like to try and shoot a bird since I got one for another airmen. We had a big tom come in right off the roost but he hung up at 60ish yards and found a real hen and got busy right in front of us. That was quite funny. We had two jakes come in and hang out for a while. I determined that the tom was to busy and wasn't going to come in. Scott was getting pretty antsy so I gave him the go ahead and take the bigger jake. 10 yards and he crushed him. Brought him over to the bluebonnets and snapped the pic. He was stoked, he spent most of the morning on the phone bragging about his bird. I gotta tell ya, it's a lot more fun "guiding" a hunt, than it is actually pulling the trigger.

We interrupt this marriage for hunting season.

Great photo with the BB!

I like calling for others and myself equally because the thrill is always there, but agree, it is great to see someone get a bird and be stoked about it.

Side note, stay out trouble over there up

Congrats on a great hunt. Nothing like that excitement of a hunters first gobbler it is an excitement that rejuvenates us older more experienced hunters and helps the sport.

No question, guiding turkey hunters is more fun than hunting for yourself. Great job and good luck overseas.
