I would like to bring to your attention a recent injustice committed by the Bureau of alcohol tobacco and firearms. It seems they arbitrarily moved 5.45x39 military surplus ammunition from the "legal to import" to the "illegal to import" status over night. This ammunition source happens to be nearly the cheapest and most cost effective for American shooters. At a mere $160 per 1000 round case. It's second only to 22 long rifle ammo. This caliber can be used in a variety of weapons platforms. And has gained popularity over the years because of it's low price. I'm hoping you could intervene. Or at the very least look into this matter. Because I believe this is an attempt to punish the shooting community financially. By restricting access to one of the cheapest ammo sources available. The BATFE claims this ammo can not be imported because of recent submissions. To produce pistols using this rifle caliber round. Although pistols in this caliber have existed for over a decade. Once again I feel this is just another back handed attempt. To deny the American shooting community a cheap alternative ammo source. And to further encroach and infringe on the Second Amendment!
