I just change hunting locations: climb for aoudad out west in Jan, chase mountain lions in NM in Feb, bugle up roaring stags in Argentina now, then cruise the beaches for spring bear in Alaska in May. In the summer, look to Africa or go back to Argentina for doves, pigeons, and perdiz. And in between hunts, I'm at my reloading bench working up and shooting new loads, as I've never shot a head of big game with a factory round, and don't plan to start now.
It's five o'clock somewhere.

Been a workaholic for the past 2 months. Chased some snow geese, leave next week for ocellated turkey in Mexico, chase Rios out west when we get back, workaholic mode again fora bit, July/August headed to Argentina to hunt and fish everything, then debating a trip to Canada before regular season gets going.
It's duck season some where....

workaholic mode till dove season. probably enter 2 bbq cook offs during off season, maybe 3. Organize/repair gear. I like to make fun of my friends to make the time pass between seasons. It shows them how much I appreciate hunting with them.

Hitting the road for work, because once the season starts I back off a bit. :)(Don't tell my boss)
Work with the dog, keep him sharp on marks, blinds, and OB. I officiate HS football and have got some practice time in with spring college games, and have some spring HS football games coming up. (not actual games, but they are spring intra-squad scrimmages)
No bad days hunting

Sit around with glazed over eyes and spittle dripping off my chin. Come to think about it, that is what I also do when at the mall watching 22-34 yo female workout instructors.

Been doing this: http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/5035471/ but I decided to break for spring and just train. Hopefully take him to the next level next fall with more control on the retriever side and more steady on the pointer side. Hunting is never over. Turkey hunting to do. Probably a crow hunt or two and if I ever get a pump shotgun for a metro barrel I picked up. Already got a place scouted for a Squirrel hunt in May. With this cool wet weather we are having I might even take Dash on a rabbit hunt tomorrow to test out the new insurance policy for a ranging dog Garmin Alpha that fed ex brought me yesterday. Then of course fishing and kayaking. Need to get the kayaks up the creek for the spawning hybrids. Take the Canoe out to run some Yo Yos on the Red or some juglines on the lake. Noodle a catfish or two. Update the Scuba gear and make a dive in Murray. Maybe hit the coast to root out some stone crab or gig some flounder or spearfish off a jetty, or all three. Could head up to okieland to snag a paddlefish. Go bass fishing and fry up some of those green trash fish everybody keeps throwing back. Hit the river south for a trophy gator gar. I could race the Texas Water Safari again. There is a lot one can do with very little money. Possibilities are endless and life is too short. My hunting next year was going to be close to home, but I already found myself spending a good amount of time planning a hunt trip to Colorado in September to hunt dusky grouse, snipe, dove, and maybe a teal hunt. But mostly to hunt Sage Grouse because it is looking like they will make the threatened/endangered list in 2015. Colorado Cabin reservations have already been made so this year I guess the Texas resident Geese I normally hunt can be at ease now. I have some touchup work to do on my wooden layout pirogue for next season as I plan on using it a lot and I am also going to do a full hunting makover on another wooden pirogue that a forum member gave me. Then as I approach 30 years in the fire service I fight with retiring or not almost every month now. I may go full time seasonal mountain man x swamp rat if I can find a way to live off the land or get paid for it.

I'm still doing maintenance. Spent nine and a half hours under the hood of the little black duck jeep last weekend. Should have the little tan duck jeep in optimal shape by the end of April.
Taxes and work...
Still have to clean up the rest of my hunting clothes and get ready for next season. Plenty of time to go so I'm spending lots of time with my boy while he still thinks I'm cool.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

That is awesome Rob. That will put years back on your life. I'm no marathon man, but I am about to get out alternating trail hiking/kayaking for distance, not for fun. I never fully rehabbed from the flesh eating disease and need to suck it up get back into the shape I was before. Especially if I want to go back to Colorado.

Loading ammo for next season. Have a 5+ years worth of 300 WM ready for both rifles; 15 boxes of Lead #4s for Pheasant, working on numerous cases of #6s right now for dove, etc. That and work.
