I will be hunting a Nilgai this May in TX. Any suggestions on the kill spot would be greatly appreciated (I know it is different than that on the whitetail). I will be using my crossbow for this hunt and not my compound. I use a mechanical broad head when deer hunting but I have a feeling that it won't work on this guy, so what type of fixed broad head do y'all recommend. I know that this is going to be a big challenge and I can't wait. My crossbow is a Ten Point Titan Extreme and it's very, very effective.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have killed two with a bow. That red dot is about right. I would aim straight up the leg and halfway up the body. I shoot one with a steel force broad head and one with an old black Magnus. Pass throughs with both. I would shoot a viper trick or razor trick. Probably be fine with a slick truck standard as well but I would prefer more of a cut on contact head. Good luck. They are fun, tough and delicious.

The closer time gets, the more excited I am...nervous too. I'm getting ready to order my Slick Tricks and start practicing with them. I know this is going to be probably be the most challenging hunt of my life...I hope to bring one down, but even if I don't I hope it won't be my last opportunity. Heck, I don't always get a whitetail every time either....just love the hunt....I will have to get another freezer though if I do bring him down! Have got some family and friends that think I've totally lost my mind, but then they are the ones that always take the easy road...no challenge...even though I don't have to prove anything to them, part of me wants to. Also, none of them hunt with a bow...haha. There's something so special about having to get so close with a bow. To me, that's real hunting.

Guided? I hunted the King Ranch years ago with a group from the archery shop. It was basically WELCOME, don't cross this Road and yada yada....and don't get lost.
Thanks goodness I took my GPS because I would have been lost within the hour.

It's fully guided....I'm not that anxious to do one on my own.
