I woke both my girls up at 5:45 this morning to go try our luck at some gobblers. My oldest said she wanted to sleep in but my 8 year old was up and ready to go. While I was setting out the decoys I heard them gobble a couple times 400-500 yards off. After about 20 minutes of calling they had closed the distance to about 100 yards. We still couldn't see them but baby girl was ready.  Well, the birds came out behind us so I had to help her get turned around. I clucked at them a few more times and they came within 20 yards. That's when with out warning baby girl let the 20 gauge eat!!! She dropped him where he stood and he never even twitched!! The other tom ran about 10 yards and stopped to look back and caught some 12 gauge in the beak. Then I tackled baby girl and had hugs and high fives like crazy!!! She was pumped and jumping up and down. I don't think I have ever had the shakes that bad in all the years I've hunted!! One proud daddy right here!!! And to top it all off, hers was a much better bird!!!
