Not my idea but still a good one! bounce
Rules are: Must obtain a shotgun, a rifle, and a handgun (ok fine if you truly CANNOT see yourself owning one of these... which I truly doubt is possible considering this is a hunting forum, you may omit one... No more than one though). You must indicate which one is most important to you (price will probably illustrate this), and list the Real world price of each... All added information is welcome but please list the three firearms as well as prices and then below that include any additional information as you please... As demonstrated below. Note you can list as many as you want

1. Colt LE6920 $1100
2. S&W M&P 9mm $500
3. Mossberg 500 $300
4. Ruger 10/22 200
5. Remington 700 SPS .308 $400
The Remington is probably the most important to me with the M&P on a mutual level. The Remington beats the Colt Because I am far more accurate with the Remington due to 1. the accuracy advantage of the caliber and 2. the fact that I have been shooting it for a LONG time. The M&P is equally important because while I choose the Remington over my AR I still see I very high need to have a weapon that offers quick and accurate follow up shots. The M&P fills that roll nicely and can be used concurrently as a defensive tool or while hunting in thick brush as I can throw the Remington over my back and draw my pistol.

Very nice! I wouldn't hesitate at all to purchase the Savage, in fact when my brother recently asked me whether or not to get the savage or the Remington 700 (about the same in price) I actually recommended the savage due to it being scoped and having mad accuracy, but for me personally I have been attached to the 700 to long and can't convert grin

Timing is a big part along with patience and humbleness.. Not everybody can buy/have guns and hunting can get expensive so quite a few let it go to their heads if they weren't snobs already and look down (or turn their nose up) at folks if they don't have the latest or nicest guns and hunting clothes... I don't have much use for that crowd so just buy something if I like it. You can find some really nice and serviceable stuff by checking the auctions and watching for something that may have a scratch or isn't shiney with a snooty scope and appearance.
The last 3 were just luck, they were set to be scrapped and I happened to see the list on a desk, had the permits to have guns, and knew the owner. Contacted him on Facebook and emailed him a bill of sale to sign and they were mine. The $100 was the fees for required paperwork to get them registered to me.

I declare you the winner. You seem to be the only person that bother to get ammo for the firearms in your arsenal.

Everyone else has clubs to hit folks with.

My newest and last (??) "gotta have it"... Got a couple gunshops and a gunsmith I work with watching for used in 22 LR but am waiting on a price for this one if I pick it up at the factory (nice and scenic 4 hour drive) in Prague. Not even sure if I'd wanna ruin the look with a scope tho..... Prolly put me a little over the 2500 bucks then....

gottahave

Ammo was not a required parameter.

Glock 17 400.00
Ruger 10-22 200.00
Remington 870 250.00
AR 15 $800.00 iron sights

The other option is dump the AR and use a Marlin 30/30. Either way I'm still was under $2,500.00 with lots of money left for ammo.

Choosing from the firearms I own now ( What I paid for them)

1. Mauser 308 - 650$ ( $350 Rifle, $300 scope)
2. Colt 1911 - 400$
3. Remington 870 ( Christmas gift)
4. Remington 552 ( Heirloom - and I would put it up against any stock 10/22 out there)
5. Colt LE6920 MPB ( 1450$ with the Leupold)

If I had to buy new

1. Remington 700 308 ( 569$ +300$ scope)
2. SW MP40 - 500$
3. Remington 870 - 400
4. Colt LE6920MP ( no optics) (1050$)
5. Ruger 10/22 ( 200$)

In no particular order:

Marlin 336 30-30: $400
Remington 870: $300
Ruger Mark 1,2, or 3 bull barrel: $300
Henry .22: $250
Ruger Blackhawk .357: $400
Rossi model 92 (because it's cheaper than an winchester):$500
Firestar .40 (a lot of gun for a little money): $350

That being said, why limit yourself to $2500?

I'd spend it all on ammo, wait six months, sell the ammo at a reasonable profit, and buy a $3500 arsenal.

I do too. I've been hunting dove for 20 years and I've hunted with hundreds of people. Never met a single person with a $2500 dove gun. I'm not even sure I've hunted with anybody with a $1500 dove gun.
