Sorry i had some trouble with my phone and the internet and was not able to get back on this. The handle on it is Silver Black Dymondwood and 1095 on the blade with 3/16 stainless pins . On the heat treating i was kind of worried i would totally mess it up but i did a lot of reading and talking on it and think it turned out really good , i used a forge ( kind of in a way ) that i made and then annealed it in the oven for an hour to bring it back down to about a 58 to 59 i am going to have it tested to see where it came in at for future knowledge.I am not done completely with it but will post some better pics when i do . Here is the forge i made

I really like the profile, very useful. Keep up the good work.
Is this your first knife, or just the first time you have done your own heat treat? Details on homemade forge?

Really cool to have made it from start to finish. I'm not sure what I think about the extra hump on the back of the blade, but that's just personal opinion.

I am still working on the forge , i think i am going to try and go propane instead of a fire like i did on this one it just take to long to get it a the temp i need. Thanks for the complements.

I think it turned out really good for your first one. I like the profile. Looks a little thick on the top of the blade in the picture.
What kind of steel did you use? Handle materials, length, etc.....

Kenneth why did you decide to use 1095 on your first blade since that is one of the most difficult high carbon steels to properly heat treat? Heat treating 1095 really requires controlled heat and a fast quench. After normalizing three times the blade should soak at 1475 -1500 degrees for at least 10 minutes, then quench in fast oil or brine ( brine is not for the faint of heart) to achieve the hardening process, the blade must drop 800 degrees in one second. Vegetable or motor oil is not fast enough, Parks # 50 is the best oil for your quench. I know a lot of knife makers that will not use 1095 because of how tricky it is. Then temper at 375-400 three tempering cycles for an hour each depending on the thickness of the steel. I have read on the net and seen things on youtube that make me cringe; remember you don't have to be an expert to post on youtube or get a website. There are some really good knife maker forums to get solid information. I know other knife makers on here will agree with me on this.. You can use 1084 and 5160 and a gas forge and test with a magnet to do what you want, but 1095 is not the steel to use for your first time. I'm not picking on you, just trying to help you out. The blade can look good and feel hard but if the grain structure isn't right you just have a pretty piece of steel. A study of metallurgy is the first thing a new knife maker should investigate first to understand what is happening inside the various steels. All of us knife makers test our steels to make sure we are achieving the best quality steel for our customers. Out of every 40-50 blades I make I will break one in half to inspect the inside. In fact I did one Friday even after I put the handle on it because I was forging some 1560 that was over 1/2" thick to make sure my process was consistent. The inside should be a nice gray color with NO grain growth this should be inspected with a good magnifying glass. Here's one I broke to inspect it.
