Way back when I got my CHL Walmart had the 30-06 sign posted. We complained and they took it down.

That's why it's important to let businesses know you don't like the 30.06 sign.

To be determined

Yep, if sprouts got 200 emails this week, they would at least have to make a decision.

Debates like this are an example of why we live in the greatest country in the world. It is your right to not go into a store for ANY reason. If a person wants to go into there but you don't... no biggie. We ALL have the right to choose where we do business. For those boycotting, congrats for standing up to your convictions... for those that are not, congrats to you to for making a decision to keep going. Just because someone still wants to shop there doesn't make them wrong and standing up for a persons belief doesn't make them dumb.

Well stated Sprman. I live in a nice part of town and don't feel any need to carry inside of a Sprouts store. If I had to worry about going to the grocery store, I think I would move.

The problem with this statement is you dont get to choose when or where bad things happen. They happen everywhere. Yes some areas can raise the chances but being in a "nice" area does not guarantee your safety. I carry every time I leave the house and the only time I disarm is when I am going into a prohibited place like a court house.

Tff, you may be surprised to know that the president and CEO is from Tx, not to say we don't have liberals and dems here, but he's not a Yankee or a west coast original.

I would venture to say most of those unlicensed have no idea what this sign means, so it's going to do more harm to their business than good IMO.

Most likely from Austin.... And those folks might as well be Yankees

Yep. I didn't get my chl because I live in a rough area. I got it because you never know when a psycho is going to walk into a movie theater and start shooting.

Or as it pertains to the topic, a grocery store, or a restaurant, or any other place. I'm not worried about carrying to stop a robbery at a convenient store in the hood. I carry because my life and more importantly my family's life is more important that a little discomfort that comes from carrying a weapon.

Seems like these crazy guy shootings happen at places that you would think are safe.
Luby's, Sandy Hook, Columbine, Fort Hood, Navy Yard, movie theater, college, salon, to name a few recent ones.

Dear Sprouts,

I live in Texas, and I recently noticed a 30.06 sign posted at the entrance to my local Sprouts. If you don't already know, this sign prohibits holders of a Texas Concealed Handgun License (CHL) from entering your store with a concealed handgun.

As a law abiding citizen, I will respect the law and no longer enter your store. Please be aware, however, that criminals do not care what legal signage is posted, and if they want to commit a crime at your store, a 30.06 sign will only indicate to them that your "gun free zone" is an easy target. Because of this policy, criminals now know (if they can read) that they will face little to no opposition if they decide to rob or murder someone on your property.

Because of this, myself and thousands of other CHL holders will no longer do business with you which is truly a shame. I urge you to review this policy, and I hope you choose to support our Second Amendment rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America.

I copied this and responded to Sprouts since it is well worded and written.

I am PRO Second Amendment. I have the choice to carry or not. I am a prime target for street crime as I am older, I walk with a limp, gimp, hitch in my git a long. I move slow and deliberate. If I hurt I park in handicap parking. If it is a good day I will walk and let someone less fortunate than me have the spot close to the door. I generally carry going to large parking lots of businesses I frequent. If a store has a sign, 30.06 and I needed/wanted what they have for sale, I would respect their wishes and do my business. I live in an area small enough I cannot eliminate all 30.06 businesses. Pharmacies, grocery stores, clothing????? Bigger cities you can do that but we are not afforded that luxury.
Or you can break the law and hope you do not get caught, but if you do, you must pay the Piper.

I agree with the reason for having a CHL and standing for something... I have one as well. There are a bunch of places that we cannot carry and you still go into them..... Just gotta be on your guard in all situations.

Very much so. My wife and I were in a grocery store in a nice area when we heard a loud angry voice across the store. Some guy got extremely irate about something in the deli section and was yelling, cussing, and threw some stuff. He walked out after his tirade, but it could have also gone the other way. You just never know how people will react anymore.

Well sprouts, albeit a great store, is now off my shopping list. Just need to let the wife know.
