I've used a bunch of different ones, but then I used dm Bullard custom holsters out of azle tx. Best fit and comfort out of all I've come across.

I like the de Santis softuck even though I don't tuck my shirt, I like the way the belt clip goes behind the belt. It feels more secure. Also has an adjustable cant.

This is VERY subjective. Its like asking what the best food is. Ex. I have a Bullard IWB, but I don't care for it. I prefer hybrid holsters like crossbreed. Here is why. The single layer of leather conforms better and the kydex makes holstering and drawing easier than the double layer of leather. They can also be canted more. Others will have their own ideas about what is optimum. You just need to try some to see what you like.

Octopiston is right, not a simple question. I would have used "what is the best Beer!" as my example. Your quest has to start with what weapon you are trying to carry and then what fits. Truly, finding the right holster is like finding a good pair of boots. What works for me might not work for you. Now having started with that my Springfield Ultra Compact rides comfortably in a Crossbreed holster.

Octopiston and weegs, I have never tried the crossbreed. I have not looked at them because they did not look like you could remove easily. For instance, if I have to go into the post office, or courthouse. I can slip off the softuck very easily while still sitting in the truck, and then upon returning to the truck, I can slip it back on, all with one hand. How easy is it to remove, and re-insert into the waistband? I will admit that re-holstering is not as easy as a kydex.

Triple T Holsters are very similar to the Crossbreed Holsters and made here in Texas! Houston area to be exact. Bought one at Katy Gun Gear on Mason Rd. In Katy Tx. last week.

White hat and tucker also have comparable holsters and are made in TX. I also have a couple Tuckers, but prefer the horse hide option of Xbreed. I think white hat has horse hide too. Might use them to replace the Bullard holster. Xbreed was the only hybrid holster I knew about when I started carrying. They also have a a "try it" guarantee and lifetime warranty. Not sure about the others. The try it thing is a nice option.

IMHO the best carry holster is the Milt Sparks VM2.

Loving this thread, getting a lot of cool new holsters to check out. I use a G-Code Incog holster. It is kydex and has "tactical fizz" on the outside so it doesn't irritate my skin at all or cause sweating. I carry an M&P shield at my 3 o'clock position. This holster is very minimal and allows me to do that which is great!

I'm happy with my Remora. Not the best, but highly effective for my uses.

Best conceal carry system. Thegungirdle.com hands down... Says the guy who owns the company! Lol. Just kidding. I actually may order a gun girdle from you in the next few months. Chl should be here any day. I've got 2 inexpensive holsters to test out. If I don't like em, I think I'll order a gun girdle. They looks good.

I unholster the pistol, stow it, and leave the holster on. When I get back to the car, I reholster. I had a single clip holster and didn't care for it. I believe that was what my FIL liked though.
+1 on the Crossbread and another +1 on the single clip comment. I had a dual clip Supertuck version for a Stoeger Cougar 40 that I owned. I thought it was kind of a pain so I bought the single clip version for my Beretta 92. Looking back, the dual clip is much more stable and doesn't take much longer to get on than the single clip. I have an IWB for my Ruger LC9, but I never use it. Instead, I carry it in a Desantis Nemisis pocket holster and rarely ever go IWB.
Thanks, Rich
