There was an update a while back but I can't seem to find it using the search. Does anyone know the exact date the restrictions are removed?

Nothing is official until the new rules are released. The language in the legislation, directed the Secretary to make the changes within 60 days, so it should be March 17th. You can count on not having the new rules released one minute sooner. I thought that there would be a 30 day waiting period after that but apparently because the action was directed by Congress the waiting period doesn't apply.

So we are thinking they are gonna at least lighten the restrictions? That's interesting I had not heard that. Should be interesting to see what they are, Sounds like a little common sense up on the hill which is a pleasant but unusual thing to see.

It is now legal today 3-19-2014 from what Ive seen on office of federal register website quote " this document is unpublished, but on 3-19-2014 it is scheduled to be publidhed and avilble on this page that the endangered and threatened plants and wildlife excludes US captive bred scimitar horned oryx, addax and dama gazell from certain prohibitions. Now we should see it all finished up and finalized today at some point I would think and we wont need permits any longer.

The timeline makes sense with the government shut down on Monday due to snow. I figured that they would wait until the last day then sign the order just before closing delaying publishing for a day. Talk about being petty and childish.
