A great way to de-stress at the end of the day and turn the brain off.

Welcome to the addiction. just do not turn the brain totally off, there are some steps where it is mostly a mindless activity but there are steps to pay close attention to detail

lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true
Mainstream news might be fun to watch

I find it relaxing because I have to pay attention to it.
To do good, accurate work, I have to focus on what I am doing and not focus on any of the other things that may be consciously, or unconsciously, bothering me.

Enjoy!
Jeff

So far I have only been depriming and resizing range brass. Just finished about 1500 rds of .223 with a single stage press. Lots of work but satisfying none the less. Working on some .38 SPL now.

1,500 rounds is a lot of arm strokes... smile

What's really rewarding and fascinating to me is learning so much about the ammunition portion of the sport. How it was developed and what effects performance. The history of how various calibers, loads, bullets, etc progressed and how much has stayed the same for decades is very interesting and makes the shooting sport that much more fulfilling.

I enjoy the process as well as learning/reading as OldTexan mentioned.

Do you know about removing the primer crimp on LC cases in .556? I have been reloading since 1972 when I acquired my first .357 magnum revolver. It is very rewarding to manufacture your own ammo at what ever power level/velocity you choose to shoot. Be safe.

Yes I do. I haven't seen them yet, but my dad is going to show me them this weekend.

Enjoy.

It seems like a chore to me now. But I shoot quite a bit. Today was prime 5, set the Chargemaster in motion, load em when it beeps and recycles the scale, in the mean time keep priming ready cases. Overthrow? Pinch, put a little back in the pan, or let it go in the hopper. Repeat for 100. Whole time I was telling myself "it'll be over soon".

Don't pay attention to me. I've had the highest stress level of any other time of my life lately, and have a bad attitude, in general. Enjoy rolling your own. I'm sure I'm taking it for granted right now.

i can't wait to get back to the states to rebuild my 8x57 stock. I have about 160 rounds that I haven't fired, and about another 100 that is once fired RWS and GECO brass from Germany.

Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

I agree. Until a round won't chamber!

Ain't that the truth! And then there is that mania that I find overtakes me when a new load shoots better than expected and I keep trying get it to shoot even better.

Usually when loading my usual loads I find both relaxation in the action, pride in the final product, and though it is completely unscientific - I think game shot with your own hand loads just tastes better.

YMMV

I have only been in in for about 3 months with rifle ammo. So much for saving money reloading. I think I am into it for about 300 rounds so far. I did not hunt that much with my rifles just my bow but it has been fun tweaking things. It has been a real blast!!! Also a real eye opener. eeks333
