Any rec's for a decent scope for my muzzy? I know they make them special for muzzys and shotguns, does it really matter?

I have a 3x9x40 Bushnell BDC with illuminated reticle on my CVA Wolf .50 cal., and it works great.

I had a standard rifle scope on my 50 cal muzzy. It ended up with a loose reticle. Fortunately it is a leupold so they replaced it for no charge.

I now have a Nikon with the BDC reticle and really like it.

I also tore up a standard rifle scope on my 12 gauge slug gun. I put a fixed shotgun scope on it and it has performed well for several years now.

I have Leupold's 3-9x40 Ultimate Slam SA.B.R (Sabot Ballistic Reticle) scope on my TC and love it. I think they are around $250.

I have five scoped muzzleloaders, four caplocks and one inline. All five wear Simmons 4X ProDiamond Shotgun scopes. They are inexpensive and though as nails with clear optics, and 4X is all that's needed out to 150 yards.

I shoot 3 Knight's, (Disc Elite,MH and LRH) all scoped. I have been shooting a Nikon Monarch Gold(30mm tube) 1.5 x 6 on the LRH;a Nikon Muzzleloader scope (3 x 9) with BDC reticle on the Disc Elite and just changed out a Kahles 3x 9 for an old model Swarovski 1 1/2 x 6, with the reticle that changes size as u change the power on my MH. The Kahles is an awesome piece of glass but I'd didn't like it's eye relief. I've never had a problem with any of them and my regular hunting load is 110 gr by vol of BH 209, a CCI 209M primer, the 300 gr. Hornady 300 gr SST or Harvester's 300 gr Scorpion PT Gold. and either Hornady(MMP)'s EZ Load 3 petal sabot or Harvester's black crush rib sabot. It's a pretty hefty load, but all 4 scopes have worked flawlessly. In a normal year I'll run a total of 300 or so rounds combined through the 3 guns.

I mounted a Leupy VariX-II 3x9 on my MZ many years ago. I sight the gun in at 9x and generally shoot at 3x. It has the standard duplex reticle....no dots, no special turrets, no bells and whistles.

Kinda boring, but it works just fine.

My in-line is an old bolt style CVA 209 Buckhorn. I put a fixed 4x scope on it and first time out shot 1 1/2" groups. There were some other guys at the range with modern cartridge bolt actions and not doing as well. IMO you don't need a special scope however I picked the Fixed 4x because less moving parts. You can also get 6X fixed (weaver) but the field of view goes down.

I have a standard 3x9x40 Leupold on my Knight and no issues. Granted it probably only has a 100 rounds or so through it. My slug gun that I use out of state has a 2x7x32 Leupold and it's held up for a long time to 3" 12 gauge sabot rounds. Can you tell I like Leupold scopes?

I was looking for a budget scope, mounted my knight rifle lk-93 with a traditions muzzle loader scope, works great, very accurate.

He'll I thought y'all were putting a scope on a (Muzzy) broadhead.

In my feeble old brain
Muzzy = broadhead
MML = modern muzzle loader
TML = traditional muzzle loader

I know I know it's on the ML forum
Just sayin
