Did a little browsing/shopping at Cabelas in Allen this afternoon. They had a lot of there cold weather gear on sale. I picked up some really nice fleece beanies, neck pieces and gloves for about $12 a piece when they are normally $25 a piece. When checking out the lady said they just put .22lr on the shelf. I walked back and grabbed the last of the 8 boxes they put on the shelf. Was on the shelf for maybe 42 seconds. Grab the cold weather deals while you can.

When you say "8 boxes", are we talking 50 round boxes, or bricks? I've been getting it from their website, but they limit me to one box typically, no matter if it is 50 rounds or 500! Hopefully the shortage will end soon...

That is most likely all they got on the truck today, stores are getting some but not much at a time.

When all this panic buying is over everybody and their dog is gonna have enough .22 ammo to last until the next ice age.

It's tulip bulbs and Beanie Babies all over again...

I'm glad I'm a Ammo Hoarder and don't have to worry about 22lr.. Always bought by the case and can't stop myself when I see more!

Years ago before any of the crazy hoarding I hunted on a ranch that had neighbors that shot 22's just about from daylight to dusk. It seemed they plinked all day long and I always figured they had to run out sometime, but they never seemed to.
I'll bet those folks don't do that today, but they are probably part of the problem even if they don't shoot anymore.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I've got a box of 500 (minus 10 or 20) I've had for about 15 years. I just don't understand going nuts over 22's unless you're trying to make money reselling them. Someone help me understand.

I found one box of 95 grain of .243 ammo at Cabelas today, but I haven't been able to find any 100 grain anywhere except Quail Creek Range.

Last week they had several boxes of the Federal 100 grain .243. I have three boxes or I would have bought some.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Last week they had a H&R Single Shot Break down 28ga built in 1945 in the used guns for $90. My Daughter loves it!
