Reese Outdoors or Red River calls. Both do the trick for me. They are open reeds and can make them sound like anything your talent allows.

You can pay out the wazoo for a call, but why would you want to? DogCatcher here on the forums has been making calls by hand since 1964 and are proven in the feild. I own several myself, and he has great prices on all his calls.

I have had great luck with Burnham Brothers C3 long ranch call. I have kill many many critters with it. I also use it as a second call when using the tape to keep ones intrest going. And it's very reasonable.
