I took a tricked out 10/22 in as part of a trade deal a while back, never got around to shooting it much until recently due to ammo availability. Has a bull barrel, volquartzen parts in the trigger group from what I can tell etc., anyways it is a real tack driver, when it shoots. LOL Very rarely will it cycle through a whole mag. Oftentimes I'll chamber it, pull the trigger and all it does is click. Rack the bolt but the round stays in the chamber sometimes I even have to use my pocket knife to dig it out. I honestly don't know enough about these lil guys to know how to fix it. I tried giving it a good cleaning and some lube and that didn't seem to make a difference. Anyone know anyone in the Collin County area (I live in Celina) who might be able to make it work?

Probably has a match chamber and needs nearly perfect ammo due to an aftermarket barrel.
Pass the gravy.

It's the bolt. Pull it out and eyeball it good. Or send it to Randy at CPC for his magic. The extractor is on the bolt, you could replace it. It might also be a mag problem. Try a different mag. Can you manually cycle through a full mag of live ammo? Do this outside with rifle pointed in safe direction. Remember that this is a sick rifle.

I'll have to give that a whirl and get back to you. Stuck working today but I'll give it a try soon.

CPC is good. Ive had their bolt rework done. They will also just sell you a reworked bolt too, and you can sell yours to make some money back.
I use KIDD bolts and parts in all my 10/22 builds now. They are a tight fit at first, but work in very well.
Sounds like you prob do have a tight chamber and maybe a worn or misshaped extractor. A reworked bolt from CPC or a KIDD bolt will have a custom cut extractor. I only shoot CCI standard or minimag (sometimes velocitor) thru mine. Ive had some quality issues with some of the bulk ammo in the tight match chambers.

There may not be an extractor in the bolt. I just had to replace the one in mine. The gun would still run about 50% of the time even without the extractor. The blow back pressure was making the gun work when it worked. You can buy the spring, plunger and extractor for about 15.00. Takes about 2 minutes to replace it.

Mine does that too. In my case it is indeed the match "Bentz" chamber in the Shilen barrel. They like match ammo, or something hot like Velocitors. I just changed out the extractor for a sharper one from Power Customs but haven't had a chance to test it out. Usually when mine starts to get bad, I'll just pull the barrel off the gun and clean the dog snot out of the chamber area, then reinstall and go back to work. That typically fixes the problem for a good while. I wouldn't take it to a smith. There's nothing on them you can't do yourself.

You didn't mention what ammo you were using. That gun won't like cheap ammo. I have a few that will shoot AutoMatch but that's the only bulk ammo they like. I shoot Wolf MT in all of mine very well but since that's hard to find I will say try CCI SV and automatch.

Started with bulk federal and switched to CCI minimag. Made no difference

Are you using CCI Stingers by chance? If so, the case on the Stingers is slightly longer than other .22LR rounds and will NOT function reliably in a semi-auto with tight Bentz chamber. There may be other super high velocity .22LR ammo using the longer case as well.
If your barrel has the Bentz style chamber (used by many of the aftermarket heavy "target" style 10/22 barrel mfgs), then the tradeoff from having the tighter chamber for improved accuracy is it's ammo sensitive. Ammo made to the larger/longer end of manufacturing tolerances will get stuck in the chamber and the extractor will often slip over the rim, unable to extract the case.

Is the ammo new? Old ammo can cause jams.

Will it cycle manually with live ammo if you work the slide not firing the ammo?
If so......
Inspect the chamber. A lot of "gunsmiths" jack with a chamber to help with function. The slightest imperfection in the chamber allows overexpansion on spent rounds.
I made a small fortune fixing 10/22s a "gunsmith" near me customized.
