Folks just need to get a life. When I got my buck this year, I had it wrapped in a tarp and strapped on my truck tool box in front of my wheeler. The antlers were showing (on purpose?,could be) anyway, luckily I hunt Wood County in East Texas. I got several thumb ups and no "#1" signs.

I'm on the road a lot in Austin and there are a lot of angry drivers around here. I used to get pretty angry about the whole finger thing, but not anymore. Smiling and the thumbs up is fine, but if you want to make them wonder about their decision to give you the finger, blow them a kiss. The full on, exagerated blow-it-off-the-palm-of-my- hand thing. It seems to either make them even more pissed off, which I think is funny, or confused, which I think is funny. I win either way! It works best when the wife's not in the truck and I haven't shaved in a couple of days.
What would you think if there was some crazy, gun-toting, redneck blowing kisses at you on the highway?!!?! More scary than flipping them off back or having them call the cops because you're tailing them.

My coworker and I put in for a lottery to hunt Garner State Park. We shot several nice deer and the Texas Parks and Wildlife officals told us under any curcimstances not to tell the public or town folk in he area that we were culling deer on the park and not to wear our cammo in town because of all the tree and bunny huggers in the area..close to Austin Tx. The TPWd weighed the culled critters and immediatley we field dressed and skinned the deer and put them in our coolers. remenber the old days when hunters would strap the deer over the hood and fenders of the vehicles.

I carried one of my rifles into Cabela's one day because I was looking at slings. When I left a guy with a PETA T-shirt on approached me in the parking lot. He asked if I was going to use the gun to kill defenseless animals. I replied, "yes and can hit hit what I shoot at from at least 500 yards, so you might wanna start running now!". I swear his face turned pale as a ghost.
I think the problem in this country is that we have raised a generation of pansies and sissies. Guys have no balls anymore. When I was growing up if somebody pissed you off you punched em in the face. Now that is considered assault. What the hell?
Back 20 years ago a high school kid could have his shotgun on the gun rack in his truck and there would be no problem. Do that now and they lock down the campus and call in a SWAT team. Man, we have been heading in the wrong direction for awhile now...

Makes me Glad I hunt in BFE and most folks think opening weekend of deer season should be a national holiday.
Moving from deep east tx to San Antonio has been a real eye-opener as far as how many nut-cases. (disclaimer: Those of you on the forum from San Antone, this does not apply to you)

Not sure I buy that. I live in Kerrville (deer and exotic hunting capital of Texas) and we are directly in between Austin and Garner State Park. Kerrville is about 2 hours from Austin and Garner state park is at least 4 to 6 hours from Austin.

I like to go to arkansas and hunt, it seems like everybody hunts and everybody has 4 wheelers and if there are any peta aholes up there they would get run outta town or maybe taken to the backwoods and told they have a right pretty mouth! Rent deliverance!
