I was coming back from kansas monday evening. I killed a small 10 pt. The way I had my truck aranged you could see a little horns and one hoof sticking out of the bed of my truck, nothing bloody or anything like that. As im driving in I exit off of I35 and get onto 190 a guy in a little white car pulls up next to me and points at the bed of my truck and I think that he is gonna give me a thumbs up. Boy was i wrong, he shot me the bird. I havent wanted to kick someones a$$ like that in a long time. Im sure glad him and i didnt take the same exit cause he would of looked real funny getting back in his car with my boot in his as$. I hate to feel this way but this guy ticked me off. What is wrong with people theese days????

There is usually one in every crowd.
A few years back Lora and I were coming home from Nebraska, and I had the rack of my buck sticking up out of the tarp, and the whole way home all we got was honks/waves and thumbs ups, or if we stopped folks came over with congratulations and questions, some even took pictures.
But that was back in 1994, and that is how much things have changed in peoples attitudes toward hunters and hunting over the years.

Heck, next time sombody flips you the bird, do what i do, Smile real big, nod your head yes and lick your lips, slow down and fall in behind them for 30 miles or so, everytime they look in the rearview give them a wink..........
For some reason they leave me alone after that

It is difficult not to have fire shoot from head to toe when someone gives you the finger but the responses are correct smile and give the thumbs up gets them the best. My ex wifes husband likes to give me the bird when I'm picking up my kids I'd love to put a boot in his a## but he's collin county law enforcement so figure I best not. Hah.

Disagree - I find it hilarious that someone is so angry and upset they have to shoot the finger.

When I pulled up beside him to shoot him the finger he started swerving all over the road, and thats when I saw him trying to swat a bee in the cab of his truck with a pink rag!!!! Guess who it was?

I understand that reaction! I would've felt the same way... However, these guys are right! If you have the presence of mind, you can REALLY torque them off more by smiling and acting like they just said you were NUMBER 1!!!

That's a blood boiler right there, but I think in everyone's interest you blow it off "water of a ducks back!" some folks would say do a better job of not displaying your kill to passers by because "you might offend someone". Well, not me by God, I am a God loving, Law Abiding, tax paying American citizen, and a Texan who likes observing other hunters successes from the comfort of my truck as I am heading back East on I-10, or Back East on I-20, or North or South on I-35 headed home from a weekend hunt! I'm finished tip toeing around, and walking on egg shells for folks that don't understand, or appreciate the Heritage that we are afforded from our fathers. Well, okay I'll stop now. Best for me to hop off the box before it gets bad! Be the bigger person and smile. I would still laugh if you did flip him the digit though! PHSOB Racks on parade! Good job, and congrats on your deer!

I'm sorry, but I might of had to have a shoulder mount of that guy!! He would of been on the wall!!! What taxi could I use??? I call it the sissification of America.
