Definitely a real, and BIG snake but the camera angle are making it look larger than life. The pole he is using is a long one, plus it is at his waste. Nonetheless, a hell of a big snake!

Then snake might also NOT be dragging the ground...it might just appear that way because of his curled tail.
Not sure?

Very difficult to tell since he has the pole extended away from him and the snake is angled to the camera.

That sucker is waaaay bigtime longer than the 5'7"er without his head and most of his neck that lives on my wall....and weighed 22lbs 9ozs on a CStores meat scale in Abilene all bled out.
I got a little too far back when I was cutting his head off with a pocket knife thank goodness ...after 19 rounds of Stingers with 18 of 'em 'tween his eyes and the back of his head before it narrowed down to his neck standing over the top of him 3 feet away...and he STILL rolled over and grabbed the stick I pinned him with while I was sawing off his head and pumped a steering wheel sized circle of venom. Zoomed to 400 and it looks like the guy is photo shopped on the truck, it appears there is a little space between his boot & the bed of the truck, also more than half his foot is off the truck. Look at the snake's body in front of his left boot, there is a slice in it, probably where they photo shopped the snakes together.
I also think if it was real, that snake would have a lot bigger girth. Lets say that guy is 5'8". He has that snake all the way up to his chin, so that makes that part about 5' alone, add the distance from the top of the bed to its tail, getting close to 9'
I am also a skeptic, photo shopped is my guess.

I have little faith in this picture. How come all these "huge" rattlesnakes are not just a little bit bigger than records, they are a whole lot bigger. If it was so big, photo it with a tape measure. He's on a work truck. There's not tape measure there?? Big snake for sure.....but not that big.

Look at the open telescoping fuse pole puller being open (to the left of transformer). It appears the snake is a good ways from the man and vehicle. Kind of like holding a fish arms length from you. Just my thoughts.

You might be correct, Stub. Could be they ran over it, thinking it was a branch. That could be what those faint diagonal lines you're seeing across it, don't know. But that is what the discussion is. Don't know. JS

on flat ground that bed should be no higher than 48" more likely though it is 45" or so. The guy holding it does not look to be photoshopped on there to me,but I am not a photoshop investigator. As far as the snake goes I have killed a few over 6' and 7' down in south Texas and Mexico. I have seen some monsters killed on one of the Briscoe ranches in Duvall County, and the biggest I have personally ever seen was in Wilson County that was all the way across the dirt road that is maybe 7' at it's narrowest. I tried to run it over and missed. Because of that rattler my wife has never open a gate since, and just when I had her trained good to open gates. There are some out there but I have to agree if I came across a 9' rattler I would get it verified somehow with a measurement or something just to shut down all the internet snake wranglers.
