I just recently got into night hunting for hogs/varmints. I have heard decent reviews about this light, i originally wanted a night vision scope, but being a student i cannot afford one.
Has anyone used it before and how well does it really work?? I also read that the light can reach up to abt 200 yds, is this true???Do yall recommend the green or red light ?

I have and use several lights that I believe are the same as the xlr250, but have different labeling. All mine are red, and with a recharged battery I'm good to about 150 yards. I hear the green ones give better distance, but I'm real happy with the red version.
I got my lights off Lightmalls.com and they were only $27 each, not counting the mounting bracket. And then there's the charger and a few extra batteries, but I got off pretty cheap. PM me if you want more specifics on ordering. Do understand, however, that this stuff comes from China, so it'll take 2 weeks at least from order time.

We have one,,,green light. Sometimes it scares off the pigs, sometimes it doesn't. Distance is close to 200 yards.

Ive got one. Your distance is entirely dependent on your scope. I can ident hogs out to 300 and have made shots att 250.

I have one in green and can light up the windmills from half a mile away. Haven't seen animals at that distance, but never really tried.

I have the green XLR250- its pretty darn bright and can illuminate well at distance- it does tend to scare off skidish hogs.

All the LED hunting lights I have seen that are sold in the US have come from China. This cuts out the middle man. I put together 3 complete kits for a friend last month for the cost of 1 XLR 250 kit. Green shines further than red but spooks hogs whereas red doesn't seem to even get their attention.

I tested one at a predator competition 2 weeks ago. My review is this: I watched a bobcat at 230 yards through a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 I could clearly see the bald face of a cow at about 300 inside a tree line with the same scope. I was impressed with the light. However, if you are looking for a "spotlight" or a wide angle short range illumination this is not the light for you. The light casts a small beam a long ways as opposed to a wide "flood" a short distance. It is obviously critical to be able to positively identify what is behind the illuminated eyes at long distancs. I also have an XLR 100 and it casts a much wider beam for about 80-100 yards. The light is a good investment but quality optics are even more inportant.

I have one mounted on a vortex viper pst 4×16 at 300 yards I can see a coyote, fox, ect plan as day. Its actually brighter than a 2.5million candle power spot light with a red lense. Highly recommend it.

Ditto scares off coons too, but gives a good site picture with crosshairs visible to make shots out to 200yds they make a 500 yd if you want more range but unless you are the crack shot with nerves of steel and can make shots past 300 yds in the daylite get the 250 works great. be quick on the trigger...

I mentioned earlier that I had bought 3 of the red lights direct through Lightmalls.com. With them I got the standard 18650 rechargeable batteries and a couple of extra batteries. The batteries haven't lasted that long, so I found some new ones at BatteryPlus in Waco. The lights seem a good bit brighter with the new batteries. As for hunting use, the red light doesn't seem to bother deer, skunks, raccoons, rabbits or possums (when I observe them, not that I shoot them). I'm a little less sure of coyote or pig response to the light. I've shot a few pigs using the light, but no coyotes yet.

Every bit of it. You can leave out the stuff you don't need too. Like the pressure switch; I don't like them bc the pad never seems to stay or be in the right spot. Is the other stuff in the kit on the lightmalls website too?

Also note that it seems that the light is in one section of their catalog and the batteries and charger are elsewhere, and the mounts are in another spot. Took me a while to find everything that I needed. And, it wasn't clear to me at that time if batteries came with the lights, so I bought extra batteries. The 3 lights (and everything else) showed up and 2 of the lights came with batteries. Go figure. It was good that I bought extra batteries.

I've got all three colors for the XLR-250, so that allows me to alternate whenever I hunt hogs. Hogs will get jumpy, no matter what the color, if you repeatedly use the same color.
The thing I like most is the scope mounts with the kit, it allows you to remove the light very easily. The battery charger works well, mine has a removable power cord which makes it easier to store.

Well, that's a good question, but I'm a bit fuzzy on how long it took. I remember thinking "is this ever going to show up"? It finally did, but I think it was maybe 3 weeks. I'd have liked to get it all sooner, but the price was so good that I couldn't resist. I think I got 3 lights, 3 mounts, a 4 place charger, and some extra batteries and full cost was less than $150.
You can get the batteries from Battery Plus, if there's a store near you. They have a good 18650 rechargeable battery for $9 and change.
When I got the lights, I wanted to put one on the 22 rifle (Marlin 39A), so I mounted it, with clamp, to the scope. That night, while stalking a monster sized and very dangerous maneating Armadillo, I found that the front sight bounced back so much light that I could not see through the scope. Hmmm, so I remounted it around the barrel and magazine tube so that the light hangs downward. Works great. Sometimes that light reflection can also be a problem on AR type rifles, but if your scope is long enough and you can mount the light as far forward as possible, the light won't bounce off the front sight.

Has anybody used the new moultrie hog feeder light? I'm inteseted in getting one I would just like to have more info on light quality and how bright it is. My blind is 110 yards away from one feeder that the hogs keeps coming to feed at night. Thinking of spending night in blind to hunt them.

That Hs-802 is sweet, Just as good as the expensive ones. Its all about the 18650 battery, buy the cheap light but buy the expensive battery, I have 3 lights for what I would have paid for one from the big boys.

I have the XLR 250 in White, Red and Green. I Have no problems seeing to 200. 200+ it gets a little hard to see. Only problem I have is the mount that comes with the light can make it hard to see in the scope. The light needs to be aligned a little to find the best spot to see in scope.
