Went down yesterday morning to see if my son and nephew could connect on a spike or doe. Morning passes as does the afternoon. In the evening my son wanted to sit with my dad and try to get one with my dad's crossbow. Well right before dark a spike came out about 15 yards from the blind. My son pulled up ready to shoot but made abit too much noise and the deer spooked and ran. Luckily another quickly emerged behind the feeder and gave my son the shot he needed. I'm sitting in my blind with my nephew when I get the text, "Just stuck one oh yeah!" I meet them back at the ranch house and my son's smile says it all. He said he shot the deer right behind the shoulder but it ran off. My dad confirmed it when he said he heard the arrow hit with a THUD. We decide to let the deer lay overnight and get him this morning. After 30 minutes and 150yd search we found him. Pretty damn good shot from 30 yards with a crossbow!  Baptised him with his first kills' blood!
