found this guy on the porch this morning and I'm not sure what he is? one thing I can tell you is he wasn't friendly.
I live on north padre island in corpus if it helps. Only thing I can think of is that migrated down here from somewhere.

They are a migratory bird so they're not always around. They like to stay in the cattails and bullrush, in the marsh we duck hunt. I've had them flush just a couple steps ahead of me in the dark on the way in to setup. It's really strange to see one even along the edge of the marsh, much less in someone's yard. I'm thinking he was injured/sick or at least turned around.

could have been something he eat...found a little dead hardhead catfish in my driveway this morning scratch could have been from him or maybe a seagull just dropped it.
