Last summer my dad and i were feeding a 50/50 protein/corn mix from the start of june to october from 2 gravity feeders and we were filling them about every 2 weeks with about 200# each feeder on our 100 acres. Im about to start it up again maybe in a week or two with maybe 75/25 mix for the deer to adjust from the corn. My question is will I see any antler gains this year or did the 50/50 mix last summer hinder me for this year?

Right now I would do all protein of you really want to start seeing a difference. Once you start protein it takes about 3 years to really see improvement.

Any protein will be good for them 50/50 or 100% either way it is better than nothing. Just don't expect to see results over night. It starts with does and their young so takes a while.

I would feed 100% protein since I am not a fan of feeding free choice corn to deer. Your results will depend on the bucks. The right age buck on feed last year can make a good jump this year.

Corn is just a filler/attractant but any protein helps.. i run a corn feeder just to keep as much deer hanging around as possible.. this is going to be a good spring too with a great growing season ahead of us if the rain stays constant.. clover is popping up everywere and ill be planting peas, corn, more clover soon as it warms up a bit... wouldn't worry about putting corn in the gravity feeder though they will eat the protein just fine
