I finally got two of my rifles set up so I am satisfied with them. Now I need to match 3 more rifles with scopes. Here's what I have set up now:

1. AR15 with 6-24 power BSA scope. This rifle will be used to shoot coons and hogs.

2. Stephens .22 mag with a Cabela's scope that came with a .243 as a package. It is an entry level model. The rifle is used for coons and, maybe, turkey.

3. Weatherby Vanguard 308 with a Bushnell Banner scope. This rifle is for deer/hog hunting.

These three scopes are all inexpensive entry level scopes. They work but I have two scopes that I prefer to put to use. They are:

A. Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40.

B. Occulus (Bass Pro) 2.5X10X50 with 30mm tube and lighted reticle.

I was thinking of putting the Occulus on the AR and the Zeiss on the Weatherby. Then putting the BSA that is on the AR on the .22 mag.

What are your thoughts? My mind has been turned to mush thinking about it.

I agree with the Zeiss on the .308, but after that I couldn't enthusiastically suggest anything but getting rid of three scopes and using the proceeds to fund one of higher quality to put on one of your rifles---and I would look hard at the AR.

I'd do what you are doing except I'd put the Banner on the 22 mag

The Banner should be a good match for the 22 mag. Definitely go with the Zeiss on the .308. I don't have any experience with the Occulus. I'm considering going with a 1-6 on my AR.

It looks like the Weatherby gets the Zeiss.

Since the AR will be used for hogs, the illuminated scope can go on it.

I don't know what's wrong with me. The .22 mag is a Savage, not Stephens. Anyway, it will be used to pick off coons under my feeder at no more than 100 yards, so it and the Banner should get along just fine until a better "spare" scope comes along.

Thanks!
