Probably not the best powder out there, but I loaded some 240 grainers with HS-6. It was just sitting on the bench so its what I used.

2400 and H110 have been the top powders for the 44 mag. There are also a few others that will work near that powder burn rate.

H110 and W296 have been my favorite. 2400 is too dirty.

2400 has been the standard in 44 Mag since the time of Moses. H-110, AA#9, Ramshot Enforcer, any in this burn rate will do a great job for you. Read up a bit and see which ones can take to downloading or not if you decide to.

What are you planning on using it for? That can (should) make a difference in powder/load selection.

H110 and W296 are pretty much identical and are great for upper end loads.

Pass the gravy.

If you happen to run across any Accurate 4100, its the same thing as Ramshot Enforcer. I believe Scot 4100 is the same as Accurate 4100 also but it is not very common anymore. Thunderbird Cartridge has some, or at least they did a few weeks back.

If you're after light target loads, then H110 is not your powder. It's not suitable for such. You'll need some Unique, W231, or something along those lines. H110 has to be run under high pressure to work properly. If you read Winchester's warnings on loading W296, think "H110" because they are exactly the same powder. Hodgdon just isn't as paranoid about it as the Winchester ballisticians always were.

All the load data you will need, right here:

http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/

H110 is fine for hunting load, but not suitable for target loads. On target loads you will probably have to load what is available, so check the charts and find powders suitable for target loads and then see which of them is available.

For a target load, I shoot 231/HP-38, Universal or Clays.
