Went to Wrs ranch this weekend with the wife, got there friday and sighted in the rifle and let my wife shoot it as this was gonna be here first "hunt". I had talked to Walter about the buffalo and expected it to be a pretty easy kill for her and she liked the thought becuase we would get so much good meat from it. So about 3 pm fri, we went to the pasture he was in and found him pretty quickly with his Asian cousins. She put a shot on him at about 50 yards and stumbled him we waited a few minutes and he got back up and she then finished him off witha lower neck shot. The next day I went looking for a White Fallow, they had only seen the white fallow once in 3 months and the guide Ricky said it would be a tough hunt. We drove around safari for 1.5 hours Friday and did not spot him. We returned early saturday with Ricky and looked for around another 2 hours and were unable to spot whitey but had seen a nice Choclate and the Ninja Star Fallow that I eventually shot. At this time I decided lets go for ninja star so we went back to that area where we spotted him again but were unable to get a shot and they were spooked by this point. We left them be on top of a hillside hoping they would bed down there and we would come back after lunch. Around 2 we went back out and went straight to the hill and there they were laying under some trees so we waited around 10 min and he would not get up and was very calm. So I decided I could make the shot while he was broadside but laying down. Hit him at 120 yards right through the shoulder with my .308 and he just rolled over. Fun hunt, good quality animals, Ricky knows his place. Cons would be too many hunters out there, they made everything work out as hunters were hunting in different places but some other hunters had to wait around a while but since we were not paying guide fees I dont believe they complained. I would definetly hunt there again as the animals were as described or better.

I wonder if the White Fallow you were hunting was the one hanging out with the Sika on my hunt? I was hunting the pasture on the west side of the north south road, that borders the ranch, 1340 I think.

Yes mike that was the pasture, all the other Fallow kind of stay together but they say the white (there was another White one, a monster someone shot a few months back) one does not hang with the other fallow. I saw alot of Sika there but never saw the White Fallow we drove it about 5 times.

It took me a day and a half to take my Sika that's not an easy pasture to hunt. Walter puts the Sika and Fallow in there at a year old and lets them mature. I saw Addax, Blackbuck, Oryx, Waterbuck, Axis, Fallow, Whitetail, and both Dybowski and Japanese Sika.

Very nice Steve. I finally bagged one of those Sika... 8 points with a 9th broke off the left main beam, and 3 more less than 1/2" each in length

S. Hitchcock that's the tall narrow one I saw on my cull hunt. I was sorely tempted to upgrade my hunt when I saw him. There were two more at the time, wider and darker, maybe just a couple of inches shorter.
