Not sure if this exactly fits this area but it contains alot of household items & such. Here goes:

Did you know that drinking 2 glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately. Without the unplesant side effects caused by traditional pain releivers.

Did you know that Colgate toothpaste makes an excellete salve for burns.

Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced nasal decongestant spray filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple strong Altoids. They clear up a stuffy nose.

Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 tablespoon of horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil, for instant releif.

Sore throat? Just mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with 1/4 cup of honey & take 1 tablespoon 6 times a day.

Cure urinary tract infections with Alka-Seltzer. Just disolve & drink it at onset of symptoms. It begins eliminating infections almost instantly, even though the product was never advertised for that use. (mind you this is the plain ole alka-seltzer, not the others)

Honey remedy for skin blemishes. Cover the blemish with a dab of honey & place a band-aid over it. Honey kills bacteria, keeps skin sterile, & speeds healing. Works overnight.

Listerine therapy for toenail fungus. Gets rid of unsightly fungus by soaking your toes in Listerine. The powerful antiseptic leaves your toes looking healthy again.

Easy eyeglass protection. To prevent the screws from loosening, apply a small dab of clear nail polish to the threads of the screws before tightening.

Coca-Cola cure for rust. Forget the expensive removers, Just saturate an abrasive sponge with cola & scrub the rust stain. The phosphoric acid in the cola works on the rust. (Im not sure about this one, Myth Busters did a special on that, check it first.)

Cleaning liquid that double as bug killer. If menacing beas, wasps, hornets, ect...get in your home & you cant find the bug spray, try Formula 409. Drops them instantly.

Smart splinter removal. Just pour a drop of Elmer's Glue over the splinter, let dry & peel the glue off the skin. The splinter should stick to/in the glue.

Tomato paste for boil cure. Cover the boil with the tomato paste as a compress. The acids from the tomatoes soothe the pain & bring the boil to a head.

Vinegar to heal bruises. Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar & apply to the bruise for 1 hour. The vinegar reduces the blueness & speeds up the healing proscess.

Kills fleas instantly. Dawn dish washing liquid in your dogs next bath. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations.

Rainy day cure for dog odor. Next time you dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with a dryer sheet, instantly making the dog smell fresh.

Eliminate ear mites. All it takes is a few drops of corn/olive oil in your cats ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for about 3 days. The oil soothes the skin, smothers the mites & accelerates healing.

Oats for pain releif. Its not for breakfast anymore. Mix 2 cups of oats & 1 cup of water in bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, cool slightly & apply the mixture to your hands for soothing relief from arthritis pain.

Honey has been proven, (and published in the Journal of American Medicine) to be as good a topical anti-septic as Neosporin. Cover skin injuries with a liberal dose of honey, then cover that with a clean (preferably waterproof) bandage. Leave it for 3 to 4 days.

Honey should never be used, however, on immuno-suppressed people - children under 2 years, or people with HIV/AIDS, Rhumatoid Arthritis, etc. This is because Honey can contain salmonella and/or botulism. Not in very large amounts, but it is something to be aware of.

Great add to this post Lora

For minor little cuts & such I use honey now instead of expensive other stuff. While cutting up my buck, both the rat & I ended up cutting ourselves & the honey worked like magic.

It has been pretty common here lately that when we cut up something, we get cut also lol. Nothing major thought.
