Well I'm a gun guy but the archery bug bit me, lol. I've been on a muzzleloader kick lately and when I went to buy a flintlock rifle I ended up getting a crossbow. Parker Bushwacker 150...it was on sale for $50 OFF at Cabelas plus I had $20 in bonus points. The way I see it, East Texas rut seems to peak just before gun season starts and the crossbow will get me out there a month earlier. Most of my hunting spots are close range anyways. As much as I like messing around with compound bows, I decided that for me a crossbow would be better for deer hunting because of less movement and chance of spooking the deer. Anyways...just when I thought I had everything I'd ever need for hunting........:-)

So what archery accessories, if any, should I expect to buy in the near future?

Wax and rail lube, rope device for drawing it back, broadheads, crossbow target should about cover it.

What has been mentioned. As for discharge bolt, my TenPoint, I just use a field tip and shoot into target. My Matrix 380, I can uncock with rope.
