In the next few years I hope to by 75-150 acres. I am looking for a weekend get away type place and want some decent hunting. I would want to stay within 2-3 hours of dfw. On water would be a plus. Where should I look? I have only hunted in east texas so not really familiar with where the better hunting areas are.

Thanks

That's a loaded question, one that has many answers, and many differing opinions. I'm partial to the areas SW of the metromess. You can't go wrong looking down that way.

very loaded question. The first thing you have to ask is how much your willing to spend. If you have a few million bucks.. that is different then say 200k.. try this site- http://www.landsoftexas.com/texas/

So I am not sure how much I would spend. But it would have to be sub 250k I would think. Any particular counties to look at?

i am partial to the north and northeast myself. its also been said here before, there are very good deals to be had in oklahoma too, and still be within 2-3 hours of dfw.

landsoftexas.com, landwatch.com, and texashuntingland.com are great sites.
