Hey, folks, any of you headed out there this weekend? If so, I might see ya there…or maybe not; it is, after all, more than 25,000 acres of Northeast Texas bottomland and I'll be the first to admit it's easy to get turned around!

Regards,
Mike

Thanks, Colt! It's become my favorite place, mainly because it's so big…lots of room to roam and shoot.

Only hog…usually between Twin Lakes, the creek and the river. Heard from the biologist this morning about the lack of acorns, though, so I'm considering just staying home!

We will be pig hunting hopefully each weekend in Feb and March.

No dogs just walking around and jumping them up.

That's exactly how I hunt 'em, Big Daddy, just me, myself and I. Seems more sporting when you sniff 'em out on their terms, right? Hope to see you then!

The hogs are thick as always. Just up the road and to the east of your parents place is as good as always. Sandies ought to be running soon as well.

Government trappers thinned them out on Cooper. Dunno if WO has trappers working there.
We plan to just walk. Maybe the dog guys will bust several groups and keep what's there moving.

The drought, plus the neighboring ranch caught over a 1000 hogs last year is what set the numbers back....

I was reading the other day that at the rate hogs reproduce you would need to kill about 70% of a hog population each year just to keep the number from growing. 70% of 3 million hogs is a lot. lol I just want a couple to eat.

Country boy livin in the city.

It can be done. The one usually hunt, back in the day, walk atv trails, they were tore up with sign of hogs. Had been hearing no one seeing hogs on it. Just got back from hunt their. Am getting ol & decrepit, seen very little sign. They pushed way back in thick hard ta reach stuff. Area we covered was just a drop in a bucket, compaired ta its size. Numbers are way down. flag

Yep, me! Headin' out there tomorrow AM…plan to hunt through Sunday PM. You or anybody else? I know it's dog month at WOC, but with 26,000 acres, I'm sure there will be a few places where the dogs ain't and the hogs are!

Im gonna try and go Saturday or Sunday.

Probably start off around 259 and head east or walk to the river via high line depending on the crowds.

The dog guys may get something moving.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking re: dogs, Big Daddy…I figure it's all about location. If some hogs get driven my way, that'll work for me! Good luck to you and yours…I doubt I'll be at that end of the spread, but if you see a guy with an NRA cap in hunter orange and a .308 AR, say hi!

Hello everyone, A group of guys from Iowa are coming down in March to do some hunting and we have determined that the White Oak Creek area is where we plan to hunt. This could change but as of now this is where we are heading. Just curious if anyone is having any luck in the area. Any help or ideas would be great. As of now the group looks like 4 guys but that could change. For sure we will have 2. Thank you for your help.
