Now I personally have killed with them with .22, .223. .270, .308 and a few others, they all did the job effectivly....... That being said the caliber I "DO NOT" reccomend, even tho it killed it with more tissue and bone damage than i have ever seen, I dont sell the skins so damage is not an issue. DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT use your wifes "08" DODGE CALIBER!!! Don't get me wrong, it did the job, but boy was she and I dont think the car is real happy with me either

In that case, my favorite caliber was an old 440 Magnum R/T.
Knocked a yote completly out of his skin one night, while south bound on US 87.

LOL! Reminds me of the time we bought a new minivan and ended up taking it on a trip that same day.. We hadn't driven 300 miles when a coyote busted out across 30 and we WHACKED that little sucker at about 70mph! The only thing that scared me outta that deal was that the wife was driving. At least she couldn't be mad at ME for hitting it!
I bet that knocked some of that white rock dust off her car though?

My son used a .50cal Barrett & .223cal to take out a few of the coyotes relatives during his recent Marine deployment (per request of the Iraqi village elder and his Commanding Officer). He said, ofcourse, the .50 left not much to tan, but the .223 was very efficient and left small holes. He did offer that the .50 was alot more fun to shoot!!!

You can kill a fly with a sledgehammer.

223, 204 or an 87gr out of a 257 wby mag. The wby may be overkill but it is fun to reach on out there and touch 'em. 22-250 will work just as good though.

Ok, Ok, I like the "brush guard" caliber. Ranch Hand would work best IMO.
