Okay so I need to get new waders because I wore a hole in my boot on the ones I have now, my friend has a pair of drake LST 2.0 waders that he will sell me cheap and he has never wore them because they are too small. I know that the old drakes are crappy but wondering about the new 2.0 design and if anyone has any experience with the new 4 process seams leaking or any other problems.

I used the 2.0s the entire season. Over 40 hunts. They have held up well. No issues whatsoever. I have SEVERAL other friends that wore theirs all season long as well. I think Drake fixed a lot of the issues with the previous models. The new seam design was a pretty significant upgrade. ALL seams in the 2.0s have a 4 point seam protection. Normally, manufacturers only reinforce certain areas in waders; crotch, rear, knees. EVERY seam is reinforced in these. If they hold up two or three more seasons like this one than I'll be impressed.

I have a pair of LST that are super warm so I don't wear them in the beginning of the season but have used them several seasons and have a small leak but that is only bc I got them snagged on a barb from a barb wire fence. Aquaseal fixed it right up.

I'd buy a cabelas brand. I wear Cabelas Armor Flex, They're great, and cabelas is great about customer service if you put a hole in them

I have a set of Drake Waders that are in the mail right now due to leaking after 5 hunts. I do have to say the customer service was top notch. But the waders still leaked after 5 hunts that were not very hard so the jury is still out for me.

Went to Kansas this past weekend and one of the guides had a brand new pair that leaked out of the box. He wasn't happy to say the least.

If they weren't 2.0s, then I could see that beings possibility. What are these guys doing playing Rambo? Good grief I hunt pretty dang hard and I can't seem to ruin them.

Drake sucks. I went through two pairs in two years. All the stitching came apart and the boots dry rotted on my first pair and the boots dry rotted on my second pair. Boots shouldn't dry rot as fast and easy as they did.
I will never buy another Drake product in my life.

Respectively disagree. I've used their products exclusively for 5 years. Never had a problem.

Lol, ok buddy. I'll make sure I do that. First pair I had lasted 3 1/2 seasons. Or for me, roughly 140 hunt days. To each his own brother. It's all good.

I do want to make sure we are talking about the LST 2.0 as drake has acknowledged the leaking at the seams with its previous waders and suppose to have fixed the issue with its new 2.0 version.

I got some boat pants before this season, they are the waist highs, just my preference. Hunted 25 times, lots of walking in flooded timber, some long range dry ground walks, froze em solid a few times, and had no issues.
The boat pants are the lightweight version, very nice for staying mobile. The cinch down heal is a big plus in gumbo mud and in the timber stepping over logs and such.

Like I said earlier in the thread. I've worn the original with no issue. All THIS season I was in the 2.0. I hunt with 4 other guys in the 2.0s. Over the duration of this season none had an issue except for one guy who very excitedly went through a barb wire fence.

I heard of way more problems with the original Drake Waders than I have heard positives. I have no personal experience with them, but when 50% of people don't like them, I'm certainly not going to buy them. I've not hear many results from the 2.0's. And I LOVE Drake products. They really make the best of everything else that's out there related to hunting clothing and apparel.
With that being said, I too have had excellent results with Cabela's brand waders. I had a pair of Ultimate Hunting Waders that lasted 8 or 9 seasons, the first 5 were hunted extremely hard, upwards of 45 hunts a year. Not so much the last 4. In the last 3 years, I've been using their First Flight Breathable waders and couldn't be more pleased.

The 2.0's are a lot better than the original waders however they don't make any that are tall enough for me.....I bought some and had to return them this year....however I own quite a bit of Drake gear and have nothing but great things to say for all of it....
They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.

They "may" or "may not" be better than the 1.0's but why risk it? If there is one thing to NOT cheap out on in waterfowling, it's waders. Drake is known to have wader issues. I would highly recommend going with Mack's or Cabelas waders. If it were me, I would rather spend the extra money to ensure that when I step off into ice cold water, it's staying on the outside.

Because I can get a brand new pair for $100, and if there aren't any problems with them, then I'm all about saving $200

Drake makes good stuff but I've heard way too many people that had trouble with their waders to bother with them. Cabelas makes a great product. That being said if you can pick this pair up from your friend at a decent discount then they would be worth trying seeing as people here are saying good things about the second gen.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

I don't have first hand experience with those waders, but for $100 I'd go for it.
I like drake products out of the box. You can tell they were designed for duck hunters with perfect pockets, and other bells and whistles.
However, I have not had good luck with quality of the products and them lasting very long or "waterproof" actually meaning "water resistant"

I have a pair of the MST Drakes. Bought em halfway through last season and have hunted about 30-40 times out of em. Haven't abused them either. I now have a leak in the crotch that is from somewhere on the seam. Also the stitching in both knees has torn. On the lower left leg where the thick canvas type stuff goes over the boot has completely ripped loose. Those parts don't create leaks. Besides the leak on the crotch and the stitching coming loose, they are very warm and look good. I also like all the pockets and the hand warmers it has.

If there is one thing to NOT cheap out on in waterfowling, it's waders. DING DING DING, nothing worse than a leg full of cold water at 5am, a 2 mile walk from the truck.

Been there, done that. 21 degrees with a left leg filled to the thigh with ice cold water at 4:30 am. Not a fun hunt but I toughed it out till 9:00
