Yes sir. That's a pretty one. Nice photograph. We kill lots of them some seasons and very few in others. This year we killed about 12 I think. Drakes are pretty birds, but a fully plumed hen is a neat looking bird as well. Fun to shoot, but not to clean!

I shot one Sunday. Immature drake not fully plumed. I think some guys think the young drakes are hens. I shot a fully plumed drake a few years ago and it was awesome looking. It's on the wall. Now I need a fully plumed hen to go with him. I would see some pairs about every trip I took after the split. Most were on the main lake and would not come close enough for a shot. I could hear the whistling of their wings before I saw the bird guess that's why they are called whistlers by northern folks.

Gotten into a few before. Found an area this year that had a couple hundred on it but they moved out before I could get back to hunt them. I was so upset

Anybody ever see any buffleheads down here? We saw a group of them the other day and had to do a double take.

Hard to beat Texas for numerous species of ducks available. I have shot 5 different species in a morning on a couple occasions. Those golden eyes are pretty birds.

usually get a few flocks a year, Hard birds to hit! Way faster than a teal, and smaller than a teal!
