I hunt in Hamilton county. Turkey hunting is hit and miss. In the spring it seems like the birds are always on the neighbors place. In prep for this spring I'm gonna put out a couple of turkey feeders so they can feed as they please..... Any good suggestions on feed. I have used a mixture of corn milo and oat seed......

Not really gonna be hunting the feeders, just trying to give them a good reason to stay on our place

We mix chicken scratch and milo, 2 milo, 1 scratch and 1 corn for our "bird" feeder. This feeder is more for viewing than hunting. And it seems to help keep our small amount of quail alive.

I like a platform off the ground that coons cant get onto with a 50gl barrel on top and just cut holes at the bottom that feed can fall out of small bits at a time... only good for Rios though

All I have to do is disc a field and plant it and those seed vultures will stay around until they eat every seed out on the ground. I think the alfalfa and clover plots keep them on my place.

Hen scratch is good with corn, the deer and pigs won't get all the milo and small pieces so there is always some left for the turkey and quail. Setting timer for late morning and early afternoon will help also.
Good luck!

We have a good crop of turkeys this year. They clean up the corn around the feeders.

Corn that is kicked out of bird feeders in my front yard by the Redbirds seems to draw them. Shot this photo of front yard thru my sliding glass door this morning. They are under the bird feeders cleaning up.

I was on a property which had scrapped pecan shells and there were tons of turkey on the property. talking with the land owner it sounded like once he did that the turkeys started coming in.
