Sorry NG, I can't stand Bar S. Those are the worst tasting ones there are. Personally, I like Oscar Meyer or Ball Park. We also have a lot of German and Czech brands available around here that are really good. But Bar S.........

yep.... Bar S aren't really good IMHO. I'll buy them sometimes though because of the price. Best one are Ball Park or Hebrew IMO. Gotta have good flavor and most importantly good snap. Bar S have a mooshy bite and texture.

I bought some of those for puppy training. My wife discovered them and ate most. I like them fine, but I usually buy brats for myself.

I wish I had a nickle for every package I sold of them. In 2006 I was selling a 12 oz. pkg. for .69 cents and making 30% profit. A Hillrat Can Survive.I personall prefer Bryan all beef.

Bought some Nathans the other day and fried them in the same pan as bacon. Best wieners I ever had. I don't pay much attention, sometimes hard to tell after I put chili, japs, onions, and mustard on one.

Yup bar-s is what I like.

Also talked to a butcher one day when buying bacon. He said in the packaged bacon at most local grocery stores that bar-s is the cheapest and in some kind of taste test it ranked the highest.

I don't eat hot dogs.

But if it were the only thing at the party to serve, it would be hebrew national

My favorite are Nemecek's from West, but I only get those occasionally. When I buy from the store, I usually get Nathan's. Some of the ones like Hebrew are much too salty for my taste. Although, you can make any of them edible with chili and cheese

back when we used to eat housecats we marinated them in louisiana hot sauce and soy sauce then season them with lemon pepper........then onto the grill slow cooking them 3 hours........excellent folded in tortillas and pico de gallo----Newgulf

Vienna.

Only thing I get that is Bar S is the thick cut bacon. Because it really is thick cut.

Just as soon to eat dodo with a dirty spoon as to eat a hot dog, same with bolonga, lips and elbows and way too much salt.

Hebrew National for me, but I also like Ball park and Oscar Myer all beef.

Fischer's up in Muenster make the old school wieners that have that snap. Try to keep a few packs in the freezer.

I get the first ones I see. Its not like your in for fine dining its imulsified meat parts with salt so just pour some chili on it and roll.

I like Bar-S. The jumbo ones are even better. I also enjoy Bar-S bologna and salami. The bacon is good for wrapping things, like dove breast or stuffed peppers.

I'm not a big fan of Bar S. My favorites are Farmer John (especially the Dodger Dog), Hebrew National and Nathans.
