If you have a bird feeder he is there for them.

Doves are favorite food but will eat songbirds when times are tough.

Either a Coopers Hawk or Sharp Shin.

Cool creatures. I love Raptors. We see them regularly chasing Dove around our house. Cool when they strike one, feathers everywhere.

When we had a lot of quail, we had a hawk that used to sit in a tree near the feeders waiting for the quail to make their morning rounds. We got some old bed springs, set them on cinder blocks, the quail could come from the tree/brush line and be under the bed springs in seconds. The hawk finally moved on after we set that up.

Nice! I was laying prone hunting a few years ago in the open on a slight rise over looking an area, and I got buzzed by a hawk. He flew about 3 feet over the top of me. Scared the poo out of me when he broke the silence, but it was pretty cool.

This might be "off topic" but I don't care, give me fifty lashes now. The other night I was at the campfire and a small Owl flew down beside me and just hopped around in the ashes of the unlit firepit. He was about 6-8 inches tall with small ears. He flew up in a branch over my head and just sat there staring at me. I think it was a "Screech owl". Anyway, it was rather bizarre at the time. Nature at it's finest. I love it.

A pair of redtails have now taken 8 hens in the last week. Funny is that they will not hit the roosters, only hens. Now I am down to only 4 fresh eggs a day. I guess I will keep them in the coop from here on out.

It's a coopers hawk I think

I told my neighbor that a hawk was watching my hens last Sunday and Monday morning it got 1 of his.

I had a kestrel hawk swap down on my eyes when i was bowhunting musta thought they were small bird wings or something. Almost fell out of the blind. Talons where a few inches from my face before I swung my bow up to deter him. Dropped all my arrows.
