My 9 year old shot her first trophy this Fall and I finally got the finished mount put up over the weekend.
I am really excited to have hunting as a hobby that we share today, and now a trophy that we have to remember these younger days as she gets older and has other interests besides hanging out with Dad

The mount itself was done by Tim Azlin Taxidermy in Clute, Tx. I am really pleased with his work and also how fast he got it done.
I made the base myself from an old cedar stump that I stripped down, pressure washed, sealed and then coated with urethane.
i made a few mistakes with the pressure washer, but all in all, I really like how it came together.
we wanted something closer to eye level for my daughter and that also didn't require any wall space.
i may still add some more touches around the bottom of the mount where the mount touches the stump, but haven't made up my mind on that yet.
