Didn't need it where we were. I had birds in my dekes at that time and could see them. The moon was really bright.

People shoot for a lot of reasons. If it was that early, it most likely wasn't even waterfowl related. Perhaps there was another animal in the immediate area that needed to be gone. I say forget about it and move on.

If you're gonna shoot early, you might as well make it count... bolt

Tell me about it, Saturday morning they started shooting 12 minutes early around us, about 6 minutes early yesterday. Today shooting started about 3 minutes early which was fine but my daughter got mad at me for not letting her shoot, she stopped counting at 111 ducks that landed in our spread 10 yards in front of her before LST. It was a great show to watch, the anticipation like to killed her.

Love taking kids hunting, never gets old.

We were out one morning this year and some guy shot when we were putting the boat in the water a few hours before legal. Some coyotes were yipping right before hand so maybe he was trying to scare them off or something.

All I know was I got away from that boat ramp and the idiot shooting in the middle of the night pretty quick after that.

Bet they came up on a bunch of roosted birds. Had guys shooting about 20 minutes early up on the river a few weeks ago. We were 2 miles away and you could see the birds come off the river. Problem with that was that was the birds we were going to hunt. Instead of birds coming early they took 3 hours and came in one huge group. We still had fun. Its just crazy how a couple of guys can really effect the hunting around them.

Yes it was and the birds have been flying very early where I hunt, could have easily shot a 4 man limit before LST ten yards in your face this morning.

And they were still shooting when we were leaving. Maybe they needed the head start?

I have been sitting there before on private properly and had a group of hogs come in right behind us. We gave them 6. Didn't drop one but we scared the hell out of them.

Cinchman, as I told you when we were hunting, they do not know what they are doing, all those birds and they keep hunting in the same blind they built. With their 4 wheelers they have access to all that land that most people can not get to.
They were out there again yesterday in the same spot, we shot three limits yesterday morning, tons of shooting from us, I let my 12 year old shoot almost two boxes of shells to fill her limit and the 16 year old shot almost a box.
The entire time we where there they shot one time when we left around 9:00.
