Had one heck of a weekend. My brother and I took off from work around 11AM Friday and headed to a new piece of property I had just got permission to hunt. Had a chance to really test out the new Mule too while scouting. Found a hole that was loaded up with Mallards and Pintails. Called the only like minded individual I know, AndrewMac, and he jumped in the truck and headed my way. Only problem we were going to have was cover. We headed back out that night to build some sort of blind. Got to the hole 30 minutes before LST and hunkered down. Five minutes before LST the floodgates opened. We had well over 100 birds in this little farm pond when we took the first shot. Finished up by 7:05 with one of the best straps I have ever had the privilege to be a part of.

Shot every bird with their feet down right in our face. It was something I will never forget. Here's a few more pics
AndrewMac and myself

Stayed and scouted til noon Saturday and sure enough the same hole was loaded right back up. Went back the next day and still had a great shoot. In hindsight I wish we would have split up between two ponds but we still had a great time!

All in all it was an amazing weekend with good company and good hunting. I sure hope this little cold snap we're getting late this week helps to end the season with a BANG!

They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.

well done. I've yet to shoot a greenhead this year. Best year of hunting I've had this year...and not killed a single greenhead

Green light. GO!

I was worried about hiding on Saturday morning, but with all the great advice I got from the gurus here on the forum Friday afternoon, we made it work!

Like Austin said, truly one of those hunts a hunter will never forget!

If you build it, they will come
