for a spring/summer food plot? Looking at putting in some food plots to help the deer out, or am I wasting my time?

Thank

Gatesville, several locations up to 7 acres each plot, and several hundred yards to a half mile between them, biologist has recommended in the past couple years to shoot 8 bucks, and 18 does.

Does this help?

Look into peanuts. Deer absolutley love peanuts. Dad did it once in VA and it brought out some MONSTER bucks in the daytime.

Not so sure peanuts will work, not very sandy where we are at.

Look at East Texas Seed Company they have some great blends for spring, summer and fall. I have had great results from their products at my place in Montgomery county.

Biologic has a selection guide for their products.

http://www.plantbiologic.com/plantingguide.aspx

You might want to talk with the folks at the co-op.

Here is where you can send them an email, but you might want to give the office a call to see who you can speak with.

Have you had the soil tested?

If your anywere around me a disc/seeder/drag is going to be your friend. I plant mainly cow peas in the spring along with a lot of clover. I will usually put in a bag of corn and bird seed as well.

Thanks guys, we have all the farming implements we need. We put in several fall food plots yearly without issues.

Look up Turner Seed Company out of Breckenridge Tx. Great people to work with and know there business! I planted a Fall Wildlife Blend in Sept. of this year in Brownwood area and the deer and turkey loved it and are still hitting it hard even though they have grazed it down to the ground! Going to plant their Spring blend soon! I think they also shipp their products. Price wise its alot cheaper getting seed from them than the high dollar stuff that are advertised in the magazines! 50 pound bags. Hope this help! Good luck!
