Arrived at my ranch about 1600 today. Checked cameras and pigs had been showing every night for the last week. Headed to the stand around 1900 hrs hoping they would show again. Set my alarm for 2045 hrs and laid down on the floor of the stand to take a little nap. Got up and looked out the window and saw two pigs walk away from the pig pipe. About 2130 both hogs came to the feeder. Feeder light came on. Waited for both hogs to line up in hopes of getting a double with one shot. Hate wasting bullets. Squeezed the trigger and 1st pig dropped. Hit him right behind his left ear. These suckers have hard heads. Figured a 270 bullet would pass through and hit the second pig. No such luck but am happy with this young boar. Should get some nice hams off of him. food Will be back out tomorrow night to try and dispatch another. 90 lbs on the hoof. banana

PERFECT size for eating. I like the 80 to 120#ers myself. Just came back about a week ago from a hog hunt near Mt. Vernon. Brought 4 hogs (110, 85, 85, & 80) home with me. Shot a fifth one, but it had been shot before, was VERY skinny, and smelled to high heaven.
Good luck on the next few days.

Nice work! What type of .270 bullet were you shooting?

A real hunter never returns empty handed. Spending time in the wilderness temporarily satifies the soul, but leaves us longing for more.

.270 head shot will pass-threw. i made a lucky shot. flag closest one (guessing 300#) didn't know what hit it, it did hit second hog.

You need to come down and help me with this pig problem I have brother. Spring turkey season will be great as well. These suckers are keeping my deer from getting any corn and coming to my feeders.

Congrats on the hog, first off your own place were huge for us!

Lots of people like cup and core bullets, but that is why I don't, one time the bullet wont go through 1 hog next time it would go through 3. I doubled two hogs about 120 and 100 lbs, clean pass through on both and if I would have had a third back there I wouldn't doubt it. Congrats again!

No need to call anything. The feeder seems to take care of that. Spring turkey in exchange for spring crappie on Cedar Creek. clap

Turkey are completely different animals in the spring than they are in the fall, you can only shoot Gobblers in the spring and you will have much more chance of getting one by calling. But I do accept your trade offer up .
