I've been on a lease for 2 years and a guy, that has not been on the lease for 2 years, just called and wants to come get his blinds and feeders. What's the law on abandoned blinds? Don't those become ranch property?

Depends if you want him to come get it or not. Tell him its been in the pound lot and what he owes for storage.

It's still his property. Let him have it back.

This would hack me off. He basically got free storage and maintenance (I assume) on his abandoned blinds and feeders. I would tell him no way, you abandoned them and now they belong to the lease, but he would probably just come and get them anyway, while nobody is there. He should pay two year's lease payments if he wants to square up with y'all.

Depends on what a contract says... if no contract and he has been off that long then usually that means it belongs to the ranch... so one way or another even if you say he cant... he can call the ranch owner and get permission

Or, he may cause you more damage and money. Might be cheaper to let him have his stuff back ?

Tell him, "No problem, but there are storage fees that need to be paid before you can move anything."
Then quote him a fair price and leave it up to him to decide.
I think you'll find it takes 3 years to be considered abandoned property in Texas.

There is no way I would let him come out and get it without informing the LO first. With that said I would have him take it up with the LO. That way you’re out of it

My lease has it in the contract that if you don't pay to hunt, you remove your stuff immediately
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Any reason he has not checked earlier? Would be sad if he was stationed in Afghanistan and just got home. Maybe he has a legitimate reason for not checking or coming earlier. Several folk on here have told some pretty sad but true stories about illness, divorce, loss of job, etc. Maybe he thought his best bud had got them, problem in communications.
I certainly would answer his phone call.

6:31 " Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them" I can't quote every verse of Scripture, but I do have the Book handy! Whats that... for those of us who can't quote chapter and verse?

I would let him get his stuff. Make sure it is when y'all are there but that's akin to taking what isn't mine to me. If he left it in place, I may use it while it's there, but I wouldn't keep it from him if he wanted it back.

I agree with Blackcoal, I'd help him load them, drink a beer and talk about hunting.

They are trespassing after their allotted time is up after their contract expires. If they want it, they can follow the rules to come and get it. WHat if they decide to come and get it the opening weekend of deer season?

I see both sides of the issue. You never know what may have happened. He may have had some bad luck and just couldn't get his stuff. I kinda believe in the karma thing. It would do you no harm whatsoever to let him get his things. Make a date tell him to be there. If you are feeling generous help him out. Point is there is no reason to make an enemy. What comes around goes around, and you will probably feel better about it in the long run. Who knows he might return the good turn in the future?
