These were brand new boots I bought at Bass Pro Shops many years ago for cold weather hunting. Me and my dad both purchased the same pair of boots at the same place on the same day. All they did for the first year of their life was sit in the closet until it got cold enough to need them. When we needed them we both found out they were worthless due to the soles melting and crumbling despite neither one of us ever putting them on outside of the store. Sent Wolverine a e-mail about it a while back and never heard back from them. Will never buy another Wolverine product again!

You forgot to follow proper Wolverine break in procedure. Clearly states not to let sit more than 24 hrs after initial purchase. They sat way too long and the soles forgot their purpose

I agree. Never will buy Rocky anything again. Not because of the problems but because they won't back them up.

I use to be a big Rocky fan! Have owned countless pairs and still own a few and none have ever done that (not saying they cant I just haven't experienced it with them). I strayed away from Rocky when I bought a pair of their lace up snake boots a few years ago and didn't even get one season out of them before the soles came unglued. Still have a pair of their slip on snake boots that are probably 10 years old and still going strong though. I wore them pretty much every day of deer season until my Dad bought me a pair of Chippewas for Christmas last year.

Dry rot, prolly been sitting in a warehouse for years and then your closet for a year without oiling, might not be a Wolverine QC issue.

Not saying you are wrong but I have other hunting boots that haven't been worn in years and they don't do that. They just sit in the trailer at the deer lease 12 months a year just like they would in a warehouse.

Only reason I that is cause I had a pair of Wolverine work boots that came apart from the sole about a week after buying them. I was standing on a pump pad and could feel my foot getting cold, went inside and my sock was soaked, the leather had spilt in two about half way around the boot. They looked up the batch number and they were made 3 years before I purchsed them.
I did have a really good customer service experience with them though and still wear Wolverines and my company buys my boots and I still choose Wolverine.

Tried on a pair of Pronghorns at Cabelas awhile back. Had intent to buy, and walked around quite a bit with them on in the store. I was very unimpressed with them. I don't understand all the praise they get.

I wish I'd have taken a pic but I had a pair of Wolverine hunting boots do the exact same thing 2 years ago.

For cold weather boots I have LaCrosse and Sorels pacs. Both of these I have had and worn regularly for over 15 years. Not one problem with either of them. The soles on the LaCrosse, my primary hunting boot, have held up great. I figure I have another 5 years on them at least. It was well worth the extra $100 back then. Too bad Rocky didn't take care of your issue.

Had the same issue .. If you contact them they will issue a warranty claim an contact the place you bought them an give you a new pair . Happened with mine not long ago an the contacted cavenders where i got them an they took care of it . Hope this helps
