Has anyone had great success while trying to put a stalk on a hog? I know during the day that's what I'll be doing when I get down to Texas. I hear that in the warm weather they don't move until it's dark. Hopefully a track through the woods gets one up and running.

If the hunting pressure is not to bad you can walk up to within 40-50 yards of them as long as you stay down wind 99% of all the dead hogs in my signature were shot within 50 yards. During the hot summer months find the water in your area they will stay close to it.

If its over 60 degrees or so go find a waterhole or mudhole in the middle of the woods that has fresh sign on it... if your patient its only a matter of time.. they will come in

Wait til dark and just start walking. When you hear something go towards it, then when you just can't stand it your so close turn on the light. Or get you some night vision and go lights out all night.

My favorite style of hog hunting is walking with the wind in my face through the thick stuff on a very wind day. The hogs can't hear or smell you and it is very effective.
