We're having an outdoor wedding and now the fiancé wants to have it so she walks in from closed doors so I can't see her first like if it were in the church. These are the best pics I could find of what she wants. Can I just frame it out and mount some doors as long and I put branches somewhere or maybe run poles into the ground and into the frame to keep it up? It has to be removable.

You'll need some sort of laterally rigid structure. If you don't build walls down, you'll have to really anchor the posts. Might use 4x6s If you're going to do the last one.

Thats what I'm thinking... Angled back to make sure that it won't blow over/fall

Interesting idea... she makin it hard on ya!

I would frame it like a normal wall... maybe not to code on 16" centers or anything and then a brace on each end like you would a post your gonna poor concrete on. Good luck

I just did this for my daughter last June in our back yard. PM me for more pics or if you're interested in buying the doors and frame I built. We 'antiqued' the doors for the look she wanted but obviously they could be painted for a different look. I'm hoping to part with them.

I found 8' doors at an architectural reclaim place in Dallas. I laid them out and put a 4x4 frame around them. 4x4's were cut 18" longer than the bottom of the doors. Once everything was square, I braced the frame and removed the doors. Then I dug two holes in my yard, installed the frame and put in some quickcrete. Then I mounted the doors. They were secure, stable and opened properly. After the wedding I just dug them back out and disassembled. Now they are sitting in my barn waiting for someone else who needs them.

Hooligan... I'd jump all over mbay1455's offer. Save you a ton of work.

I agree! Making sure they pass the test with mama and I've already sent him a pm. I think they look great!

You could put some small wing walls on it at an angle to give it support.

One of my buddies has this very setup that he is trying to sell. He used it for his wedding last summer. I am sure he will make you a good deal on it if you are interested.

It comes with a huge platform that is used as a stage, a doorway to come in through, and a large back drop area.

Great thing is, he is in frisco as well.
