Ok so here's the deal. I'm running 3 dozen of the dakota pintails this year, and so far I've had apx 8 heads snap off the hen decoys, only hens.

What I mean by snap off is the stud on the bottom of the head breaks/ peals off and stays secured in the body.

Anyone else having issues with Dakota deke issues?

Thanks,

T

hows the flocking on the heads holding up, that's the only down side that I've heard about them are that the heads color and flocking isn't done very well.

All mine are Texas rigged, and the flocking is showing major wear.

I know right now Bill and Ricky are filming hunts. Might be out of pocket until next week. Be patient but they'll get back to you and get you taken care of. I haven't had that issue with mine. Flocking has held up fine. Mine are Texas rigged but I transport them in slotted bags.

I agree with fishpig, I'm sure Bill is filming. He's a straight up guy and I'm sure he will take care of you. I don't know for a fact but Muddyfoot may be able to help, he staffs for them. Maybe PM him and see... Other than that I hope you get the issue resolved those are some high dollar dekes!

Not to get to far off topic but I would think if a guy was a "straight up guy" he would have somebody to take care of business when he is away. Filming hunts is not an excuse to drop the ball on customer service.

I ProStaff for them. Best thing to do is talk to Bill. DD is a lot smaller company than most people realize. For how small they are, they do a pretty bang up job with customer service. It's pretty much a one man show. It's a young company. You won't be disappointed. They've always taken care of me, yes even before I became more involved with their ProStaff team.

That's the down side of the waterfowl industry, the owners are hunters as well and are chasing birds just like the customer. But the issue you are having, I'm sure they are aware of by now if it's a serious problem and you will be taken care of. I'm not sure but you may have to pay shipping, I not sure though.

I hate to hear that about the decoys but it's guys like you that help get a product right so don't worry it will be handled even if I have to call for you myself, just let me know.

A buddy of mine has some... same issues you mentioned I noticed on his... hen head snapped off and the drakes flocking looks like chit and peeling/scrapped off.

Had the same exact thing happen to one of my hen dekes last weekend.
The flocking on the drakes seems to be fine (I keep them in slotted bags)

I understand completely with the hunting/ filming. I've been really happy so far, and am more concerned with this possibly being a manufacture defect. I have no doubt they are stand up guys and make a excellent decoy.

I do wish they made an un-flocked, stationary head, pintail decoy!

The answer to all that have flocked head dekes is a slotted bag, can't treat em like the average Texas rig...

I flocked a bunch of flambeau storm fronts 3 years ago with rustoleum paint and shook on the flocking. Texas rigged, not cared for, and they only have a couple with any flocking missing at all.

My dog snores.
