Buttermilk Pie

4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons of flour
Beat all these items up together good
Stir in
2/3 cup of buttermilk
1 stick of melted margarine
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Beat together and pour into a deep dish crust ( too much for shallow crust )
bake at 350 for 45 minutes, maybe a little longer
stick butter knife in close to center and if it comes out clean it is ready

Add some pecans in there.

Google----You will find some 5 star recipes.

Any time I am looking for a good desert recipe they are easily found online. There are numerous sites. There are usually a lot of recipes from the Food Network.

Agreed. It's got to have that texture to make a buttermilk pie. No PECANS!

There are very few foods worth killing for, but buttermilk pecan pie is one of them. The best we have ever had was in Arkadelphia, AR, it was at a little restaurant off the downtown square.

My mother in law's recipe is a bit different from those already posted.

1 stick butter
3 TBS flour
3 TBS lemon juice
1 ts vanilla
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs

Melt butter and add sugar & flour. Beat eggs slightly and add to butter/sugar mixture. Add buttermilk, lemon juice and vanilla. Bake in unbaked pie shell for about 1 1/2 hour at 300 degrees.

My wife made one over the weekend and it was goooooooooood!
